The big disadvantage with Elmau is its height, but in February/March we have never had a lack of snow. There are many ski runs to suit all abilities. The ski school is also particularly good starting in the centre of this picturesque village. In Austria ski school runs 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon and you can either collect your children for lunch or they can have it with the instructors. There is plenty of après ski here too, ranging from toboggan to sleigh rides.

The slopes are well maintained and boast a variety of difficulties to suit skier's of all skill levels. The part that I enjoyed the most was the 2-3 cabins off each run you can stop into for delicious Austrian food and boozy drinks before continuing. Its such a fun setup and something everyone should experience
