A great local family owned guesthouse and restaurant. We booked ahead of time to go here for dinner…read moreand I was glad we did. The restaurant was full for the whole evening and we ended up waiting for our table for a good 15 mins despite having reserved. If you want a hearty Austrian meal in town this would be the place for it.
The menu is typical Austrian with a few other odd bits thrown in for good measure. They were very apologetic about is being delayed and offered us schnapps on the house more than once. The service was a bit slow and just be aware that this could happen to you. It's a small family run business and patience can be a virtue. Having said that the food more than made up for it. The kitchen closes at 8:30pm so don't get there too late if you want to have more then one course.
I had the Zweibelrostbraten and the flavour was amazing. The steak was cooked more than I like but it was tender and tasted good. Everyone else enjoyed their meal also. The best part was the bill. For €100 we had 6 decent sized meals, sides, a bottle of wine, beers and water.
I would happily come here again anytime. It's good hearty unpretentious food for a very reasonable price.
