I was in the area, and chose this café at random. I ordered an omelette and my partner ordered…read morechicken schnitzel. I was impressed at the size of the portions, and my omelette was excellent, with cheese, mushroom and tomato, and a nice garnish. It came with two bruschetta slices, which were a great complement. The schnitzel was generous in size and had a tub of gravy larger than I would have expected. It came with thick-cut chips. I had a large flat white and it was very good. I thought the value for what I paid was very good. I didn't expect the size of the meals, and it was a good thing too, because we were both hungrier than we thought we were!

Ooooh, the contentious Sea Poppy. Despite the efforts of some opponents (neighbouring businesses)…read moreSea Poppy has overcome the odds and opened its doors at Fairy Bower. This 'boutique general store' oozes cool from the young baristas to the random collection of Moroccan and Turkish homewares. Cooler than this, Sea Poppy has bought us what we've been waiting for - a choice! No longer limited to the pricy kiosk at The Bower restaurant you can pick up a gourmet pie, freshly made sandwich or a cupcake for no more than $10. In Sea Poppy today I noticed they are going to start snorkel hire soon - what genius idea to bring to Fairy Bower so we can enjoy the marine park in all its glory.

Feels like a fishing village on the edge of Greece or Italy at this primo Toby's Estate café spot…read more The paint is even peeling off the white rendered walls like some old architectural relic. The boys are friendly, the coffee is consistently good and you can sit on a boulder right next to the water and wonder how the other half live. Ready to go maple granola looks highly addictive... just keep an eye on the milk pour... because they'll drown it in dairy and kill the crunch if you're not careful. The savoury muffin lacks flavour, but like all muffin's should, has a good top crust. The macaroon is a moist must... crammed with coconutty goodness to the point that I virtually entirely devour my friend's and realise I should have bought my own. Now an essential coffee accompaniment and a brand new addiction. Stop in here mid coastal walk from Manly to Shelly Beach, or in my case, stagger in here on Sunday morning post Saturday night soiree and pray the caffeine does the trick. If it doesn't, walk three metres and plunge into ocean without any further ado.

Weather was predicted to dump all day but just as we approached Dural.... BAM!! Hello rain. But once we made it to the cafe, the cute outdoor seating was drenched. However inside was super cozy and the perfect place to hit out with a coffee. The kitchen was closed when we made it but a second wind for a second lunch totally could have happened. The burger sounded aahhhmazang!! The treat skim piccolo and a cheeky brownie totally hit the spot and the day was a success! The coffee was soooo good! I'm no coffee connoisseur but that cup was so smooth with some surprising character to compliment. (I'll get better with my coffee descriptions lol) They were using 5 senses beans and I'm always a fan of them I'm coming back for that burger!!

Would you like flies with that?…read more You can't blame the business but the most memorable part of my visit was constantly waving and chasing the swarms of flies away from our food! This place is located on the main road so parking is difficult. This wouldn't be a problem if there was something special encouraging you to visit - unfortunately there wasn't. There is indoor and outdoor seating with about 15 of the tables outside. It is licensed as well but only one side of the outdoor area is licensed. Again and like the flies - the licensing laws aren't the fault of the owners but it's a pain in the butt to move everything 2m because you want to have a beer! The staff were polite enough but stuffed up both our drinks orders and the food - brought the wrong drinks and then left stuff on the burger we'd asked to not have on there. The coffee was definitely great but very small. I had a burger which was really good and very fresh but for the price I wouldn't have expected anything less. If it were my local I'd have the odd coffee here but it's not the sort of place I'd go out of my way to visit.
