For children learning to skate they can use the "helpers" like a walker and push it around the rink. It's a large space with a variety of seating, black lights, a disco ball, and flashing colored lights. They played a wide variety of music and the hosts were able to submit a playlist ahead of time. They do have some table seating, but it's limited. The rink was fairly clean, and the skates looked well maintained. The staff was friendly as well. They also offer lesson and a roller hockey league.

With having been a skater for over 30yrs I can tell you a few pros and cons. When walking in to any…read moreskating rink the 1st thing you'll see is Stake At Your Own Risk. This is a fact but there are things rinks can do to mitigate risk. 1. Stake Guards who are trained at looking out for safety risks on the floor. No one should be skating with a cell phone in their hands, including the Guard. If ANY object is dropped on that floor it poses a serious safety risk. 2. No one should be stopped on the floor just standing there. Guards should notify guests to please skate or get off the floor. 3. No one should be skating against the flow of traffic. Would you drive the opposite way on 309? These top 3 were prevalent to me on multiple occasions. Some may say, if I don't like the place then don't go and don't post negative stuff and to that I say, do you want to be injured, do you want your child to be injured? So skating at our risk is fine, but when that risk is high, as a result of the policies of any rink, then it's important to consider. It's a nice rink with family friendly party rooms, they allow delivery of pizza, etc. The staff is super nice and they accommodate sometimes hard to please parents. Today, kids and adults are purposefully attached to their devices. No more lines around the building, no more All Night Skates, and the glory days of Roller Skating are behinds us, but the world needs more rinks and Clubs IMO. With 2 back surgeries, I have to look out for my safety. In this area, if I want to skate, I have a few choices. I can drive a few miles to Inline 309, or drive to other more traditional and established rinks in Philadelphia, Bethlehem or Allentown. I want to go here, I love to skate, but in the future I'll only attend the Adult Skates and hope there is some semblance of order.

The employees at the rink were so helpful on getting him the right ice skates, giving pointers for lacing and some great tidbits on getting him used to being on ice skates. The skate rentals are the best I've ever seen and ended up being better than the hand me down hockey ice skates I brought for him. After some help from Jeff, my son went from wanting to go home to asking when we can come back for more ice skating. And he has been talking about ice skating every day since we went last week. They do a great job with covid safety and currently the number of skaters is reduced. I highly recommend coming here for public skating, especially on a weekday. I can't wait to get my kids enrolled in skating lessons here.

I'm a first-time dance mom here of a fresh 5 year old that's been twirling around the house for…read moreyears. We finally gave in and put her in dance. DVDA was the closest to our home so we started there without doing any deep dive into their business practices. The first day seemed great, she had a blast and I got to watch her through an open door along with a dozen or more other parents trying to see their own tiny dancers in the room. The second week in, the teachers shut the door on the parents. At first, I was sad that I wouldn't be able to see those bright happy smiles like last week. Then it turned to concern seeing several other parents' react the same way. After speaking with a few of them, it clearly bothered everyone there. I brought my concerns to Amanda in the office and she made it seem like not a single parent ever brought this up to them. Ever? Really? "That's just not how we operate here". Meaning....? Parents are a distraction so we shut them out and that's how we like it here??? These people are more than happy to take your money whether your child is enjoying it or not. But how would you know unless your 2 or 3 or 4 year old tells you so? Because observing in real-time is out of the question here at DVDA. Parents are "allowed" a few classes a year when we can go in and actually observe our dancers in class....ALLOWED. And they say this with a straight face. Videoing and picture taking is also not allowed. My 5 year old puts on a leotard and a tutu for her first time and they tell me I can't take her picture while she dances? Again...they say this with straight faces! They literally shut the door in the face of a mother of a 2 year old trying dance for her first time. The look on their faces was tragic. 2 years old! DVDA is clearly missing the point here. And to make me seem like the crazy one for having these expectations is just bad business at best, demoralizing at its worst. "We can't help you here with this" when asking why I can't see my baby dance should NEVER be the response. I politely made the suggestion of having a 2-way mirror or even CCTV which would completely solve these issues, but.... I was made to look like a clown for asking such questions. I was made to feel like my child and I were not welcome at DVDA with these concerns. They claim it's for "child safety." Child safety is precisely why parents SHOULD be able to observe their child. DVDA must first earn the trust of parents before they can shut the door on them. They must feel so superior to other studios that making a child uncomfortable for any reason whatsoever couldn't possibly be happening behind their closed doors . Now if my child was perhaps 8 years old or more...this might not be AS concerning. But babies and toddlers, shutting them away from their safe place, is absolutely unacceptable. I'm clearly not alone in this sentiment because there's sometimes 4 or 5 parents all gathered around the tiny window in the door to try to get a glimpse of their tiny dancer and realizing it's of no use, saunter back to the main room completely shut out. It's crushing! DVDA should be embarrassed to treat parents this way. Our children are there to have fun and to show off their moves to the people who matter most to them! They are not there to be professional and disciplined ballerinas while wearing a size 4T tutu! Ironically, the same policies that restrict parents at DVDA are the very reasons OTHER studios would never object to such things. I know. I checked. If you want to share in your child's progress and their joy of dancing, it's a no-brainer to take your business elsewhere. There's plenty in the area who don't believe in these odd business practices and want the parents to feel welcome too.
