My experience at Hatcher Pass ATV tours started off with a bang. From the onset, the customer service was phenomenal, starting with a warm reception from the sales team and their humongous St. Bernard, who just loves to be petted.
After the signing of vehicle waivers to operate the ATVs, we were issued a helmet and rain boots. They don't offer gloves or eyewear, which I highly recommend to minimize or protect your eyes from the winds, dust, and flying debris throughout the trail.
We received a thorough brief of safety and operational instructions prior to the excursion. Please make sure you pay close attention because they're going to be helpful throughout your trip. If you get through the series of drills without safety issues, the guide will take you through the entire trail. Trust me, you want to do it because that is the highlight of this entire experience - riding through creeks, massive streams of water, steep hills up and around the beautiful Talkeetna Mountain Range. Halfway through, at a stop, you'll take in a stunning waterfall, gorgeous panoramic view, gold mining landmarks, and history. This experience is one of the best I've ever had; in fact, if I can give them 10 out of five stars, I would, it was that amazing.
Recommendations: We were able to find deals on Groupon for six people. We got the two-passenger three-hour packages $40 cheaper, and to be honest with you, even the retail prices of these packages are a steal because this experience, especially for those who are novice ATV riders, is mind-blowing.
Also, don't forget to bring your driver's license because they're needed in order to operate the vehicles and make the decision on who's going to drive before you get there because that is something they're going to ask during the waiver process. Other than that, I highly recommend this place; you won't regret it.
