What could wrong with a basic bathroom remodel, right? The project was to update, leaving the same basic footprint, and was given an estimated 6-week competition time. We are now into our fourth month as they try to repair and endless list of mistakes and damage.
-Improper preparation at the beginning allowed for house damage during the demolition phase.
-New tub installation leaked to ceiling below. Tub was removed and installed three times to correct install errors.
-Newly-installed tile was broken up in two places to repair improper install.
-A window to be replaced was incorrect from manufacturer, re-ordered, and still had about two inches trimmed from bottom and installed without telling us it was wrong.
-Paint repeatedly bubbled on a wall (a problem contractor did not create). The wall was painted over and over with continued bubbling, until finally someone painted a blocker on the wall.
-Wall patching had to be redone because of poor workmanship. Painting had to be redone because of poor workmanship.
-Newly-installed shower was installed incorrectly. Opposing wall had to be cut into to access shower valve to rotate one-quarter turn to allow water to flow correctly from shower heads.
-Communication throughout project by people in charge has been abysmal, never knowing for sure when, or if, people were showing up.
In fairness, they did paint the stair railing after it was damaged by the demolition crew.
As was stated ways more times than should have been, the bathroom will look great when completed. Unfortunately, because the project has been so full of screw-ups, the polish certainly has been tarnished a bit. read more
