(From age 12 to 17 years.) At the time, Maria was teaching at Studio 5D. The environment Maria cultivated for her students was very toxic, degrading and belittling. The toll this emotional harm caused from Maria's negative and noxious environment was not only immediate but also long lasting into adulthood. It has taken me years to find my confidence and self-worth due to the constant berating and patronizing remarks made during dance class and rehearsal. It is extremely difficult not to start believing in the negative remarks when it has a constant presence and is coming from someone of authority. While these events did take place over 10 years ago, I cannot imagine Maria providing children a positive and healthy dance environment to learn, create and grow.

This, my friend, is not your average dance fitness workout... this is an experience in itself! There are different levels you can take. The most basic class is called "Break Down" where the instructor will literally break down the moves of a specific routine. At the Orlando location, Elisa and Renee are musical dance geniuses. Both are accomplished dancers and will totally rock your world with TONS of self-made routines. I have only taken classes from Elisa and Renee, but I know there are a few other great instructors that teach the classes as well. The dances are set to current, catchy and just plain 'ol freaking awesome jams. I'm not lying that it feels like you are IN DA CLUBBBB when the music starts pumping. The classes literally fly by! You have tons of fun, sweat like a PIG and leave with a big smile. I highly encourage anyone to try out a class. Just remember this motto... there are no mistakes, only solos!!! :-)

Me and my Uber driver could not find this dance studio. This dance studio is located in the north east corner of the intersection of 50 and Semoran Boulevard. You cannot see it from the street. Is behind all the restaurants on the east side of the property. Once you find the studio it is a gorgeous location. When you walk in immediately to your right is seating so you can change into your dance shoes. There are wood floors throughout and mirrors on the wall. The dance floor is not too slick but still is smooth enough to dance on. There is a back room which they used when I was there to sell water and Gatorade. This is the smaller studio but we were able to fit a lot of people inside of it. The student does not have a specific designated area for the DJ. However the DJ was able to set up and not encroach upon the dance floor. It was a good event the studio is nicely decorated.

I appreciate the padded bench seating that has cubbies for storing shoes, etc. The studio has two bathrooms and also a separate changing room. There's a nice sound system and large mirrors. It's an excellent place for private events with ample parking spaces. There is a small kitchen area for food set up and they also have a large fridge. I enjoy attending classes and social dances there, too. Since there are a few restaurants within walking distance and many just a short drive away, it allows for a great evening of dinner and dancing. They offer such a variety of classes so it's easy to always learn something new.

Only to find out that our child felt uncomfortable in the class. We lived in Baldwin and thought it would be silly not to checkout Dance 360. We are so happy we made that decision. Dance 360 instructor's are positive and work hard to foster a positive environment. Most importantly they meet your little dancer where they are at! We like the standard weekly classes but there is an opportunity to audition for their "company". The staff is so kind to the children and love on them as soon as they come through the doors. We are especially grateful for Ms. Jennie their ballet instructor who makes every child feel especially heard. If your looking for a studio that encourages your little one to love dance and have a positive body image look no further because Dance 360 is it!

Updating because my husband and I have now been students here for 3.5 years. It's not a perfect…read morefive stars but at this point I can definitely round up. Let's start with the less good- here's what I didn't know going in to Arthur Murray when we bought a Living Social- they are the most expensive of the many different brands teaching Ballroom dancing. That said, they are very very well established and have an excellent reputation in the global dance world. The per lesson price is higher than what I've seen else where but we got hooked on our instructors here and ended up staying. The sales pitches aren't my favorite but this studio does offer specials more often than other Arthur Murray studios and the prices at the Florida studios are less than they are in other markets. That said, the instructors I've had here for group lessons have been fantastic- all of them, even with the staff changes over the years. Our private instructor Frankie is amazing and we have had so much fun dancing with him over the years. He has choreographed our wedding dance and a few showcase dances. The other students here are really friendly and it feels like a family. We moved from the area and still come back monthly for lessons because Arthur Murray Winter Park is really a home away from home for us at this point. My husband and I wanted a hobby we could do together and while we've spent a LOT of money on it over the years, it's been worth every penny. There will always be more to learn. Ballroom dance isn't easy but the instructors here have been patient and have worked with us endlessly on technique, form and we've learned at least ten different types of dances at this point (rumba, cha cha, swing, hustle, tango, fox trot, west coast swing, salsa, bachata, merengue, bolero, waltz, viennese waltz, samba line dance...). There's more they teach too- there are always more steps and things to work on. The possibilities are endless. We've had a lot of fun with the Friday night parties (social dancing), the non dancing events, and costume contests over the years in addition to our lessons. Overall, if you're serious about learning to ballroom dance, I'd recommend Arthur Murray and specifically Arthur Murray Winter Park!
