"Never purchase at Harvey Norman anymore. Terrible service and disrespect their customers!!!" That…read morewas the comment I wrote before my talk with the Good Guys staff. If Harvey Norman staffs could behave in a professional manner, I would have not come to the Good Guys, and that comment would have never been written. I just bought a Panasonic fridge on Sunday 28th December 2014 at more than $1700. The sale person told us that the fridge would be delivered between 10am and 2pm on Monday. I bought the new fridge because the old fridge is not working properly. And really mentioned to the sale person about that. That is, I need a new fridge as soon as possible. And when the sale person said that the fridge would be delivered on Monday, I decided to buy it instead of going to theGoodguys since I need it urgently for the XMas leftover and for the New Year. Since the bought fridge is larger than my old one, we already bought more food with the expectation of putting all those in the new one. Also, when I was away, my parents at home removed all of the food out of the old fridge and disjoined all of door shelves/compartments from the old one, so that the old fridge was ready to be taken away when the new one would be delivered at 2pm at latest as promised. However, we waited until 2:30pm and no fridge was delivered. So we came to the store in Murray Street and asked the sale person. She said that something happened in the system and it stated the fridge would be delivered tomorrow and just said apologies even though we told her that we already bought new food because the new fridge is bigger and that the food would be rotted without being stored at cold temperature. I wonder why we did not receive a call in the early morning that the new fridge would not been delivered as promised? The Harvey Norman staffs would be responsible for this issue when the delivery time is not as promised and call their customers about it in the early morning. I believe that if there was any problem in the system such that the fridge was not taken today, the problem must be noted in the morning since all trucks depart from the storage in the morning. But we did not receive any notice. On Monday, we had to arrange someone at home to sort out all of the existing food in the old fridge, to wait for the new fridge and now we again have to assemble all of the compartments back to the old fridge, put all of the existing food back in the old fridge and don't know where to put the new food in. And all I got from Harvey Norman was an apology. Is it fair for Harvey Norman customers? Another problem happened today - Tuesday 30 December at noon. The fridge was delivered with lots of scratches and dents on all of the three sides. We called the staff at Harvey Norman Hobart store and after many discussions, they told us that we have two options: either keep the scratched and dented one with $100 reduction OR get the new one at the same price. We don't accept for just their apologies for all of their mistakes since we had to wait for the fridge for two days, had to cancel lots of our outdoor activities, put all of our Xmas and New Year food in and out of the old fridge back and forth, and wasted money for rotted food due to their delayed delivery. They told us that since we got a discounted price when I purchased the fridge already, so they won't reduce the price although lots of trouble they caused us later. I asked them that "do you mean we must accept all of your problem just because we got a negotiated price when we purchased it?" She said yes. How terrible!!! They are UNACCEPTABLE!!! ---- After lots of discussions with the Harvey Norman staffs, especially the manager and after our talk with the Good Guys, things are now sorted out. I revised the rating of Harvey Norman from 1 star to 3 stars.

I was in the beauty section looking at a range of different things when all of a sudden this women (an employee) comes up to me standing less than a metre away "organising" things on the shelf, mind you I am pregnant and have just finished work, so I say to her "if you think I'm stealing I'm just trying to buy my sister her birthday present," she then continues to start accusing me of putting things in my bag so I show her my back which clearly has nothing accept my wallet inside. The whole time I'm browsing in the store she is following me, she stood in my way so I couldn't go into isles aswell as continuing to call me names. I get to the cash register to check out and the whole time she continues to accuse me of stealing, telling me I'm poor and I'm going to have no future, she says that I am nothing. Another women working near the checkouts politely asks if I've stolen anything and I say no, the other women keeps yelling calling me all sorts of names, I start to tear up and I continue paying and show her my receipt. Her name is Nicole. I am never coming back to this store again!!

I know Lovisa is a chain and while I prefer to shop at local indie shops for trinkets, one thing I…read morecan rely on Lovisa for is having particular things I need, due to their range. Twice in the past few months I've flown into Lovisa with a very specific need, and twice that need has been met at a very decent price. First, I found a ridiculous "best friends" necklace the day before my BFF arrived for our ten year BFF anniversary. Second, I found the perfect pair of red earrings to go with my bridesmaid dress... yes, again the day before another bestie's wedding. This review proves that while I'm not very good at forward planning, at least I know I can rely on Lovisa.

Myer Hobart, formerly the historic Brownells store on Liverpool Street, has been a central retail…read morehub for decades since its acquisition by Myer in 1959. After a devastating fire destroyed the original building in 2007, the store underwent a major reconstruction, reopening in 2015 as a modern, multi-level facility in the heart of the CBD. While department stores a bit of a dying breed in the USA, they're still around in the cities I visited in Australia. Hobart was no exception as I took a stroll through the multiple floors of the Myer Department Store during a recent visit. The placement of the escalators was a little confusing, but I did find as I took the elevator to the top and walked down. I was looking for stationary, travel things, and maybe a nice shirt. Store staff were well dressed and professional. Decor-wise, things seemed a little plain, albeit functional, clean, well stocked, and easy to maneuver.

They called the Tas Ambulance officers straight away, who examined me carefully and passed me to go home. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and I can't thank them enough. Well done, Myers, for good training and fast response and well done Kelly and the team for a challenging morning, handled like pros! Just a postscript: the other Paul C. who pops up on this review site (August 22, 2020) is not me! His comment about young, giggly uni students was not my experience at all. God bless 'em, I say!

I think he's got some Afrikaans in him as he's a bit Dutch and is from South Africa. That came up when I came in wearing my Springboks (Rugby) hat, explaining that my Nephew lives there and it was great way of not being taken as an American at first. What followed was a nice American politics back-and-forth, with one other customer joining in. Talking with the locals is almost always a fun learning experience for me. I settled on a nice Tasmania map, and received a nice Tasmanian Tiger print as a bonus. Both were wrapped up nicely for the eventual long journey home. There were more expensive choices and additional selections, and I was happy to get out of there without picking out more.

Next thing, a gentleman appeared in the side alley and invited us into his shop. We were both amazed and fascinated by the antique maps and photographs on display and mused over them asking questions. After half an hour or so we got to know the owner, Gerald, whose personality, humour and knowledge will stay with us forever. Just listening to him was mesmorising as he informed us of the history of the maps he has on display. Of course we found the 'one' that we had to purchase. Gerald is also a professional framer. He went above and beyond (we had to fly back to Sydney the next morning) by not only framing and packaging our purchase, but ended up driving us to Hobart Airport so that we didn't miss our flight. This was truly an experience that my husband will talk about in years to come when visitors to our home reflect on the beautiful artwork we purchased from this historical store. Thank you so much Gerald. We will definitely meet up with you again when we next visit Hobart.
