I lived in Harvestview Apts for 5 years.
The apartments are spacious and well maintained. There are one-bedroom handicapped-accessible units and 2-bedroom townhouses.
They are registered with the Dept of Agriculture(?) under some program to get people into rural communities so a lot of the tenants are low-income and getting rental supplements.
The landlady is a shrewd businesswoman and can be a bit difficult to deal with, but she does a pretty good job at keeping the riff-raff out and at maintaining the property. She is only in the office one day a week, so it's easy to avoid her. I had relatively few problems with her and no maintenance problems in the whole 5 years.
There are a lot of little old ladies that live there. They have to know everybody's business and make a point to do so. Families with young children can be noisy and destructive.
Harvestview was a decent place to live. If it were closer to Harrisburg, I would not have moved. read more
