I had not wanted to spend much on the trip -- and, well, Blush on Main ended that fantasy pretty quickly. Blush on Main has racks and racks of beautiful women's clothes and accessories. If it weren't for being pregnant, I may have revelled in these racks a bit more. My sister-in-law, though, found a few items to try on here. What I really loved was Blush on Main's hat collection. I'm a sucker for a great hat (for proof, see my main Yelp profile pic). This shop had a few varieties that were particularly good for more regular wear, such as when outside at home, at farmers markets, on vacation, etc. I found a straw hat with a blue band that I had to have. It cost around $45, I believe, which was over my budget for the day (see the second paragraph above) but not so much to break the bank. I forked over my credit card, and I wore the hat the rest of the day. My sister-in-law and mother-in-law also got great hats. My cappuccino was ready within a few minutes and the rest of food came out in about 10 minutes. All of our food was delicious. We got the baked Brie again & it was just as good as the first time. We split the Picnic in Paris sandwich- it was also incredibly yummy. The croissant was flaky. Smoked turkey was flavorful. And the blackberry aioli was perfection. This place is really lovely. The food is packed with flavor. It's reasonably priced. And the atmosphere is unique & "homey." I highly recommend stopping by & trying it out!

In fact as an example, a fifth of peach schnapps was $5 less in this store as opposed to the 3 Madison liquor stores, and that was the exact same brand and size. I was looking for something specific and she offered to order it for me, unfortunately I don't live in the area but I thought the gesture was amazing. This two-story shop has a well curated array of new and used books, as well as some books printed by an in-house publisher. It also had such interesting nooks and crannies to explore, like it's kids area with a fake fireplace and "room under the stairs" a la Harry Potter, Mark Twain room and closet-sized reading area dedicated to the late LGBTQ trailblazer Harvey Milk. The prices also seemed reasonable, and it had a large enough selection that you can find something good to read no matter your reading preferences. It was also fun to just peruse book covers post-COVID and post-way too much shopping online. Village Lights is such a special place!
