There are reasonable gift priced selections. The carnivorous plant section was very cool. Lots of pitcher plants and Venus flytraps. All of the plants are well tended to and look healthy. There's cute kid activities embedded into the garden. A giant chess set and sand box. You can jump on stumps and or just chill. The best time of year to go in my opinion is during the Spring and especially during the Cherry Blossom season, which only lasts less than a week if not that. During that time, it can be super duper crowded, with people everywhere trying to get the perfect profile pic and/or selfie in. Weddings are held here and they have a beautiful area for it, along with a pond with lily pads. I have friends who have gotten engaged here, although if you're a professional photographer, you need to have permission. During the summer, they have a summer concert series on the lawn and it's so much fun. My friends I would bring snacks, wine, coolers and picnic blankets. Partaking in those concerts was one of the most fun parts of my summers, so nostalgic. Parking is a bit much (as it's sometimes hard to snag) but there are a few overflow lots to accommodate. One of my favorite parts of Duke Gardens it that you can also access Duke Campus across the road, and see the lovely Duke Chapel, and its beautiful cathedral. Once done, you can re-enter the Gardens and continue your trail. Such a lovely stroll. Once you cross the red bridge, you can also find your way to the farm, where there are animals, vegetation and lots of vegetables and herbs in a sweet garden. You can't really get too lost at Duke Gardens which I appreciate. Just keep going and eventually you will find your way back to the main fountain. Enjoy!

Coker Arboretum is a stunning little gem, tucked within an already beautiful campus. It's only 5-acres, but the space is well thought out with grassy areas in which to relax and read and secluded benches beneath the shaded canopies of trees. I loved the variety of flowers and plants, some of which I hadn't seen before. If you are in the Chapel Hill area, I definitely recommend a walk through this lovely arboretum. For a Spring Sunday, it wasn't crowded - a nice change from other larger gardens in the area, such as Sarah P Duke Gardens in Durham. Parking is unfortunately an issue at Coker, but if you come on a weekend, most street parking and lots in the area are free.

She was visibly upset about that and informed us that she was the general manager and she was new. She immediately went to the other employees and said some thing to them, and I think they were all quite surprised. Bottom line when there's customers in your store an employee needs to say hello and ask if the customer needs any help that's basic 101.

It was full of hair algae, large pockets of it and the water was murky. Gone were the huge goldfish and being able to see the bottom. Horsetail bamboo seems to be growing out of control. We walked over to the greenhouses and several were filled with blight consumed plants, rows and rows of them. Instead of closing the doors on them, they were wide open spreading the blight across the property. We went through the gift shop and the cashier never acknowledged us, he was sitting in the dark staring at his phone. We are totally disappointed in the loss of a landmark business. We miss your Dad and sad to see his life's work in such bad shape
