The only downer was that the two male head-teachers/people-in-charge seemed more interested in suits and handshakes than actually getting things done properly - they were very friendly, but organisation sometimes ran a bit awry whilst I was there! The class rooms and library all looked great though. And I really enjoyed my time there - all the kids were so optimistic about life, I miss those days!

We were delighted with the kindness, and attentiveness of the staff across the board to the students. The staff were really dedicated to students taking GCSE's, so encouraging and supportive. They really put themselves out with all the extra sessions they offered. Seek out Patcham High, I'd have loved both our children to go here from year 7.

This superb school has achieved specialist status in a whole host of areas (check out their website) and continues to forge relationships that help it's students. The curriculum is broad and the staff really do go out of their way to help students and families. Staff are also handpicked so tend to be the cream of the crop. Worth working very hard at your speciality to get into this sought after school. School has a 6th form - when some boys are allowed in as well.

Firstly, the way they teach allows students to move at their own pace, whether that's fast or slow. They help the slow students to improve, meanwhile allowing the smarter kids to continue to improve without being held back. Secondly, the teachers are amazing. They truly truly care about the students, which is helped by the smaller class sizes. It's a wonderful school; I cannot recommend it enough.

Fees start from £57 a week. Situated in beautiful grounds, with its adventure playground backing into the Ashdown Forest itself, the school is a safe and wonderful place to learn. From Parents and Toddlers through Infant classes, Montessori materials are utilised. Reading and writing are practised daily from age 4 with the goal of children being able to read and write competently before joining the main school. The main difference between Greenfields and other schools is the unique teaching method it uses. This method (Study Technology) isolates the barriers preventing or hindering a child from learning and then provides precise tools to deal with them. Its use allows any child of any ability to learn anything - even those who have been labelled 'dyslexic'.

The teaching standard is impeccable, with each department giving its all to every student. The staff are dedicated, professional, loving and are 75% responsible for the great success the school has had. The resources are exceptional. Being a science and technology school, the ICT facilities are fantastic and are constantly growing - with a great technical support team lead by Ian Miller, who is always introducing more innovative and interactive ways to make the school's IT resources excel. The school is one of the top in the Borough, with outstanding A Level and GCSE pass rates that seem only to climb every year. A wonderful place to learn, grow and become an individual.

There are occasional little local difficulties, but these are overcome within minutes. We are after all human. Maybe a few tweeks for next year otherwise brilliant organising. Congratulations are in order to Malcolm, Sue and Lynn getting on board the required number of Invigilators for the various days/weeks/months. Long hours and hard work in processing all the examination paperwork in the right rooms at the right times in such a professional and orderly fashion is amazing. They must walk miles in a day I truly believe outsiders have no idea how the system really works and the long hours put in to making the exam period run so smoothly. As for the students themselves, we know a few of them really don't want to be sitting in an exam room at all, but I have never come across such well behaved students in such a large school. Congratulations to the Parents as well as the Teachers. Also a big thank you to the Teachers for acknowledging us when we are in the school environment. It makes life easy and the job worth doing. With just a few more Invigilating days before all exams are finished, I hope to see you all next year, except the leavers, good luck in what the future holds. Anne Wells
