Upon arriving at this conveniently located b&b (just a few minutes drive away from IWU), John and LeRoy immediately welcomed us into their home with warm hospitality, making sure that we had all the essentials and amenities necessary to have a comfortable stay (e.g. Wi-fi password, information about the house, extra blankets, etc.). We were made to feel like royalty by the several high-class amenities offered at the Inn including, specialty chocolates in the room, plush bathrobes, an assortment of magazines to read while in bed, and bubble bath for the jacuzzi tub. The special touches extended into each morning, too. We were treated to delicious breakfasts each morning set with a beautiful tablescape (and yes, as some one who loves to host herself, I noticed and appreciated that the dishes and flatware were different each morning). It is in the dining room that you are most able to appreciate the care and attention that the owners have put into preserving the history and integrity of their century old home. Beyond the tasty meal and beautiful view from the dining room, it was also our hosts' hospitality that put us at ease when we aren't normally used to eating with other guests whom we don't know; John broke the ice by conversing with the guests, telling us stories about the area, and providing entertainment suggestions when asked. One of the worst nights I've had. A train came by after…read moremidnight. Blew its horn every 20 seconds for 5 min until horn faded into the distance. Come the morning, I was forced up bright n early as morning road noise from the street out front filled my room. I got a handicapped suite cause I have a wheelchair. Only 1 roll-in bathroom in the whole building, so the room I got had a bathtub and a shower seat. The shower seat doesn't fit in the tub properly and dumped me out of the tub onto the floor when I leaned to one side to wash. In the end, there is almost nothing you can do except get a discount for your horrible stay. Management just tries to deflect. Karen, the manager, claimed there are no trains near but I looked up the train lines through Marion and there are like 5. She would have been a good cop with those lies. Bottom line is I won't stay here again. Update - lost a star as they don't even have earplugs for their patrons with all the noise. Will move to Hilton down the street. They at least have earplugs.

I was on an all night flight from San Diego to Indianapolis I had one of those flights that arrives…read moreat 5:30am I was able to pick up my rental and then headed to Fort Wayne along the way I started getting extremely tired and called a few of the hotels in the Muncie/Gas City/Ball State/Hartford City area and all them gave me the run around with some Bull$hit I call this hotel and I was lucky enough to talk w the owner he was the only person in the entire area that was compassionate enough to understand that I was dead tired and really needed a place to stay to rest he gave me an early check in of 7am he is very kind so I pulled up checked out the room he helped me get into my room and I was able to get some peaceful sleep after literally being sleep deprived for over 24hrs I'm an EMT and I'm usually the one saving lives and keeping people alive until they can get the proper care. I felt like this man really did me a favor. I give it 5 stars based on that. The hotel is solid beds clean room was clean. Easy access to and from the hotel . I'm very pleased I'm going to book another night and then get on my plane to go home Thursday morning. Thank you Mr.Owner of the Super 8 in Gas City.

Given the location, I don't think the lack of a pool is an issue as noted by another reviewer. I think this place is geared towards people who just need a place for the night. Overall, it's very clean. It does have weird rooms with the sink as part of the main area instead of in the bathroom. I don't see any reason to complain about the cable. I don't even have cable at home, and the channels here seem fine. I'm happy to see the flat screen. I've been in budget hotels that still have tube tvs. Fridge and microwave in the room! The free wi fi has a great signal, which is a huge plus! And strangely enough... it's a two story hotel, with NO elevator. I have to assume anyone who is wheelchair bound is automatically put on the first floor. And my room does not seem to be designed with technology in mind. I had to unplug the clock radio to charge my computer. Definitely a lack of outlets. When I heard I was in a Super 8, I cringed, but it's definitely much better than expected.

We ended up wiping everything down once we got in around 9:00 at night. Maybe we should have gotten a $35 credit for checking in late and cleaning the room? If you are an early riser and the rest of your party sleeps in, don't bother using the bathroom fan, it's loud enough to wake those not only in your room, but also those in the rooms on either side of you! We stayed in the "North Room," which is the first room (all rooms are upstairs on the 2nd level) at the top of the stairs. It has a very comfy queen bed and ample space. My favorite feature is the clawfoot tub, a bath bomb was even included for those wanting a bath. The owners live on the 3rd floor so are always available. Visiting during Covid, we had a very safe stay as well. We got to choose our breakfast time and were served a grand breakfast to ourselves in the dining room. A breakfast-in-bed delivery option as well. Karen made a feast of a breakfast (French toast, eggs, bacon, fruit, and Tinker coffee!). Breakfast is included with the cost of room (which is very affordable!).
