My wife and I were first time homebuyers when we moved into the Richmond Hill area. While we are…read moreboth pretty business savvy, have a great understand of personal finance, and ideas of what we wanted in a home, we were both nervous about the home buying process. Additionally, due to work, we would could only visit the area on the weekends and needed a realtor who was willing to work with a distant client. After hearing from friends about their experiences with realty agents, we were nervous that we might be taken for a ride from an agent trying to get a big commission. However, I can honestly say the Randy Bocook team is the most professional, personal, and knowledgeable realty team I have heard of and would recommend them to anyone looking for a home in the area. Being perfectly honest, we stumbled into working with Randy and his team. During our initial trip, we had initially looked at rental properties. However, when we realized on Friday night that we should instead look at purchasing a home, we set about calling several realtors on Saturday morning to assist us. All of the realtors said they were either busy or off that day and requested that we make an appointment for another weekend. Remember that we live 7 hours away and cannot just come back when ever. Randy and his team were different however. We worked with an associate of Randy on Friday when looking for rentals and when we called for help on Saturday, Randy was the only one willing to stop mowing his lawn to look at homes with us. With in 45 mins of our call, he was there ready to help us find the right home. One thing I really appreciated about Randy and his team is their focus on the home buyers. While he knew pretty quickly that we could afford a vastly larger house, he actually listened to what we wanted. Instead of forcing us to look at houses that did not meet our criteria (but would have offered a much larger commission), Randy only showed us homes that we wanted to see. As a result, we were able to cut out the noise and focus our limited time on what we really wanted to see. I cannot stress how important this was to us and to any future home buyer. I cannot say enough about the Randy Bocook team and they knowledge level. All of the team members we interacted with were very knowledgeable of both the Savanah/Richmond Hill housing area and our specific situation. Regardless of who we talked to, everyone was updated on where we were in the home buying process and passed on this information to the other team members. No matter who you work with, if they are part of the Randy Bocook team, they know their stuff. I could go on about the other ways that Randy and his team shined. They were able to work with us, despite being hundreds of miles away. Randy was willing to talk with us on the phone late night and on the weekends. We both felt very comfortable texting him multiple questions about the home buying process and he always responded in a timely manner. Randy helped us negotiate a great deal with the seller and maximized our investment in the property. Even after the closing process, the Randy Bocook team was there to check in on our status and helped us arbitrate a minor dispute with the seller. We hired Moncrief Renovations LLC in late 2023 to complete a major renovation and addition at our…read morelongtime family home in Pooler, GA. Our experience has been extremely disappointing and stressful from start to finish. The project was plagued by poor communication, repeated delays, and a lack of follow-through. Subcontractors often didn't show up as scheduled, and weeks would pass with little progress. We were left without a working kitchen or laundry for long periods, which caused significant inconvenience and additional expenses for our family. Jobsite cleanliness and care for our property were lacking. Demolition and construction damaged our existing floors, resulting in thousands of dollars in refinishing costs. While the owner admitted responsibility, we never received adequate compensation or resolution. The most serious problem was discovered after the renovation: severe moisture, mold, and structural damage that had never existed in our home's 60-year history. Multiple independent professionals--including the city inspector, a technical expert, and an inspector sent by their own insurance company--concluded that Moncrief Renovations violated building code by blocking crawlspace ventilation, creating a moisture trap that led to extensive damage. Despite providing Moncrief with detailed documentation, inspection reports, and repeated requests for resolution, they failed to take responsibility or correct the issues. We have since filed complaints with the Georgia Secretary of State Licensing Board, the Georgia Department of Insurance, and are seeking further action. I would strongly advise anyone considering Moncrief Renovations LLC to proceed with extreme caution. Our experience has resulted in major property damage, financial loss, and ongoing stress.
