I walked in looking for a Castello di Gabbiano Piemonte Moscato -- preferably an '08. After nosing around their beautifully appointed oak shelves and bins I found it, and right alongside several other, difficult-to-find Moscatos. There's even a section dedicated to the wines of Georgia (the region in the South Caucasus -- not the state) and a remarkably good selection of German whites. The friendly owners love wine and they're in the process of establishing an upmarket Italian food and wine store in nearby Frenchtown. This is worth the trip.

He basically just gave me a miserable look. Strike 1. I got to the register and said hello. He didn't respond; so I said hello again. He was so ignorant as he mocked me and said "hello... hello, I heard you!!" I was always taught to respect my elders; so I didn't say anything. The next few times, I'd go to the register and he wouldn't say anything. So that's the way I kept it. Today, (2 days before Christmas), some ladies who just checked out, at his register we're saying thank you and Merry Christmas to him. I was at the other register with another elderly and very friendly clerk, when I heard him mock the women who had barely left the store saying "Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas... thank you!!" My cleek saw that I heard him, and I said... so the awful clerk behind me could hear "what an awful, cranky, old bird!!". And my clerk laughed so hard. This obnoxious, hateful man should be fired!! I don't care how old, or young you are! If you chose to work in retail, or any other job dealing with the public, be nice! Be kind!!! And don't be a constant ass!!
