I found out about LJ studios through the moms group on FB. I submitted an inquiry on line and pretty much did all communications via emails. Since there is some uncertainty to dates, Laura did a great job of keeping in contact to lock down a day after delivery. Day of, we showed up on time to her studio, which is in a house in the Lindberg park area if you are familiar with Culver City. So lots of parking all over in residential area. She gave us some options for color schemes and looks and whisked the baby away for her shoot. Then before you know if, it's done! She is really good with communicating ETAs and sending previews. We did a view thru zoom to pick photos and i think it was less than two weeks later they were edited and in my inbox! The photos all turned out beautifully.

Okay- here's the dirt…read more If you go look at their Instagram and website, it's hard to tell who they've shot recently. That's on purpose. They've had a bunch of their former clients become headshot photographers who copy them. So Theo and Juliet intentionally DON'T share their newest work. Also, they undersell themselves. You have noooo idea how good they are at THE WHOLE THING. I paid the upgrade to have Juliet pick out my clothing. I want her to style my whole life. I bought a few of the pieces, even one I didn't shoot in. She's so good. Theo and Juliet are HILARIOUS. They're so good at putting you at ease. So much so that I'm like, are they tired after this? Because I didn't have to worry about a THING. They're watching for your errant hairs, your errant boobage, and you can trust they're never going to get your face from a bad angle. (Because they'll call each other out and fix the angle and backdrop and lighting until it's perfect - and you're laughing as they do it.) My makeup was so good I didn't want to wash my face at the end of the day. Seriously the best headshot experience ever. I've shot probably ten headshot photographers (as a tween and in my 20's) and this was the best experience I've ever had. You leave your shoot with them feeling like everything is possible. (It is, but it's easy to forget, you know?) Don't bother comparison shopping or being a weirdo like me who was like "I'll lose ten pounds but shoot with someone else in the meantime." Don't do that. Just shoot with them. They'll make you look like you're ten pounds smaller anyway. And they'll nail your looks and vibe. It's just so good! They're worth every penny. Do it do it do it. Amen. Also- funny story, we hadn't originally booked with them. See above in regards to being a weirdo. My husband is also an actor and shot with them 20 years ago. But we'd booked with another "big name" with a name that sounds kinda like a race car driver... We lived in Phoenix at the time so we booked an Airbnb in LA, jumped through the hoops to get the PCR c test (their requirement), arrived in town and sent the test. ...And they somehow hadn't booked the slot. We'd even sent the deposit. They didn't take responsibility. It was super weird. So I told my husband to email Juliet, which he did. She called back super quickly AND squeezed him in. We cancelled my shots with the original person and rescheduled me with Theo and Juliet, too. Theo and Juliet are hilarious, they legitimately care, and they only shoot one person per day so you get a FULL experience. Okay this REALLY concludes my review.
