What can you say about a Funeral Home? They are professional and busy! I used to be and assistant undertaker in Lansing Michigan.

HORRIBLE customer service , didnt offer payments to us because of "the division of ashes",couldnt even get my name right in 10 days of communication,(you know it was correct for billing) response to the INCORRECT division of ashes was "Well we did what the law said"- ZERO CARING. Why even ASK , and then allege to confirm between parties SOME THING SPECIFIC , if all you're going to do is SOME OTHER THING?? Not only that, it took atleast twice as long as other local funeral homes to even get the ashes back -TEN DAYS. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SECOND RATE BUSINESS, at a time like loss of a loved one, DETAILS MATTER, all they care about is getting paid.

Cameron Gowell personally helped us through this trying time. He made every step along the way as easy as possible. He was sensitive to our loss and gave us emotional support as we needed it and made sure that our every need was met. As a result, on the day of the service, everything went off without a single hitch. This funeral home has a bit of an uphill battle to gain business because of the problems with the previous owner. As far as my family is concerned, these new owners have totally overcome the problems of the past.

We were told a burial site could not be prepared in January due to the weather. A spring burial was projected. However June 9th was the scheduled burial date. Once again several families traveled the distance to find closure as we buried my aunt. A few of us arrived at the burial site an hour early because we were given the wrong time. We observed that the grave site was prepared for an urn, and not a full sized burial. A funeral care driven by Randy arrived a short time later. He had a wooden encasing in the front seat used to lower an urn, he also had a coffin in the back of the van. He asked us if we were there for the Military Service. We informed him no, but for the burial of my aunt. He rolled up the window and got on the phone. He then informed us that the grave site was prepared wrong, and that a full size grave and grave site for the urn had been prepared in the wrong places. That my aunts service was at 10:30 and the military service was scheduled for 12:30. I started asking questions. Did they cremate the wrong body? I was told "No" by Randy and that my aunt was in the coffin in the back of his funeral van, (which was not a hearse). I asked to see her to make sure the bodies hadn't been switched. I apparently asked to many questions regarding where she was stored until the burial etc. Randy asked if I had been at the service in January and if so I would recognize that the casket in the van was hers. I was at the service in January which made me take a closer look at the casket in his van. It was brand new and wrapped for delivery. He had just picked it up and was taking it to the funeral home. We were then informed that the burial would take place the next day, which was Sunday. Most of us scrambled to call our hotels and arrange to stay another night. As we gathered shortly afterwards, we were told that the burial would take place at four today (Saturday). A few of us decided to go to the cemetery to see if there was a Military service at 12:30. There wasn't. Nor as we walked the cemetery was there a full size grave site prepared in another area. When we gathered with the rest of the family and my aunts daughter said she was told that they had not picked up her mother and would do so and that's when we would gather back at the cemetery. So at four we returned. There was a casket (the same one I saw earlier in the back of the van), and now a vault, but no grave site. Now another change, the burial would not take place Sunday, but Monday. The coffin was placed in the vault and sealed and left outside. I returned to the cemetery Sunday to make sure the vault was still there. It was, and a grave only three feet deep and not wide enough to fit the vault had been dug. There are no more excuses. If a site was being prepared why hadn't it been finished? We had to return home as the stress of what was going on was taking an obvious toll on all of us. My aunt is in heaven, where her remains are is questionable. But one thing I know, those who lie will always have to answer eventually. I would not recommend this funeral home to my worst enemy to bury their dog let alone a beloved family member.

Ok, so this one was really tricky to find in order to review (who would have thought that the old…read moreMouth School would have been remodeled into a church?) but I have done my best. Behind the old school...er...church...is Mouth Cemetary... ...the MOST HAUNTED place in West Michigan!! ~pause for effect...smile wistfully at all the disbelieving faces~ Until you have spent the night in Mouth Cemetary (which may not be possible anymore, since the church moved in) you would never know it, but this place was seriously freaky at night. The ruins of a scientist's lab lie (or used to lay) nearby, and the majority fo the headstones in this overgrown place of rest date back as far as the early 1800s/late 1700s! Oh, not to mention the ghosts. Did I mention the ghosts? Yeah. Pretty spooky stuff. It might be a tranquil place but for all the, you know, hauntings and such. Sundown to sunrise were terrifying times for us all as kids... ...and for you, it might make a neat photo op and a place to soak in some truly impressive sights. It's a rare thing to find a cemetary in such a natural, unkempt and gothic state, but this one truly is something to see. Cultural, educational, scenic...and haunted! What more could you want? Oh, and if the old scientist's lab is still there, DON'T sit in the chair on the porch. It's cursed. Seriously. Don't ask how I know, but hey, maybe a curse might spice up your vacation!

a lot of history here. Look it up yo…read more http://www.paranormalreporter.com/mouthcemetery.htm
