Would love to have booked her for my wedding, but she doesn't respond to calls, texts, or emails. Oh well.

Jonathan Blake Salazar - Jonathan playing during our ceremony in Merida Mexico

Jonathan Blake Salazar

He made us feel like he had everything under control and that he knew when to accommodate us and when he could use his knowledge to make sure everyone had a great time. In the pre-ceremony, he mixed it up between some pre-selected songs I chose and played some live. I am a musician, so many of our family and friends that were in attendance are all musicians and singers. They all immediately were drawn to his smooth voice and incredible playing. The ceremony went great and had minimal to no tech issues, the sound was clear, he helped us incorporate our musician friends to play a song during the ceremony. He played our First Dance song live, and absolutely knocked it out of the park! We did a small choreographed dance to Love Like This by Ben Rector. His voice was perfect, and I was able to send him an edited version of the song that matched with our dance. He played it flawlessly and the moment was special for my wife and I, and for our guests. During the dinner, he played an acoustic set consisting of covers of 90s-2000s R&B songs, which were a huge hit with us and our guests. He played with a loop pedal and was able to simulate a full band with just his guitar and voice! He had some moving and grooving, singing along during dinner, while others were still able to hold a conversation without distraction. I gave him many songs to include in the dance portion of the night. And while he included MANY of my suggestions, he also knew when to throw in some crowd favorites to keep the party going. The dance floor was PACKED all night, the transitions between each song where seamless, and it became a fun game for my and my friends to try and guess what song he was cueing up next! My wife and I loved every musical moment of the evening, and it was exactly what we dreamed of for that day. All of our guests loved the music, and were so impressed not just with his professionalism and on stage banter with the crowd, but his musicality and rich voice. I have worked as a wedding musician for a few years, and as a gigging musician and singer for much longer. I have always feared that I would spend my wedding day judging the Wedding Band/DJ because of my high standards for live music. Jonathan blew every single one of those expectations out of the water, and he was such a breath of fresh air during a stressful period of wedding planning. I cannot recommend Jonathan Blake Salazar any more for your wedding. He is a dream to work with, and will do an incredible job performing, Emceeing, and DJing your special day!

He was also very flexible with making announcements and even allowed an impromptu karaoke song with one of our speakers. I hope to get to work with Jonathan again in the near future!

Lessons for me and my kids…read more My wife and I decided to get our kids Piano lessons. Come to find out adults are welcomed students as well at Soundscape. This was a pleasant surprise for me. I taught myself guitar but always wanted to play the piano. My 2 daughters and I split the hour session so we all have an equal time to learn and play with our in home instructor John. He is very patient with my 6 and 4 year old...especially with their tired grumpy dad. Jason is an active participant in our education. He has stopped by the house on occasion to check all of our progress. I highly recommend John and Jason for your enrichment in this field.

If it wasn't for Jason and his instructors, my son would not have started in the entertainment industry. Jason is always hands on and around making sure his instructors are doing their jobs and parents are getting their money's worth. After explaining to him what our goals were, he knew exactly who to pair us with. The first big audition my son had, Jason was there to "oversee" his lessons, audition tape, call back tapes, prepared him to meet with the director and producers- until he booked the role!!! We have not gone anywhere else since! Both my children also play piano, guitar and drums- the instructors are all amazing, so great with kids and make it fun and enjoyable learning at the same time. As a busy mom, I do not always respond and very quickly, however, Jason and Maria are very kind and understanding and have given me so much grace to late payments and late scheduling, I am very grateful- thank you! We have moved, but the school has also expanded to Los Angeles in the San Gabriel area, and we still have gotten even more amazing teachers since the move! The recitals are also always so beautiful and amazing, giving the chance for my kids to share their talents with others. Thank you, Soundscape!! We appreciate you!!!! I highly recommend this music school if you live in Orange County or San Gabriel Valley!!!

Brian's live music created such a beautiful, meaningful atmosphere for our ceremony and set the perfect relaxed, elegant tone for cocktail hour. The cadence of the music, the song order, and the timing of the MC'ing were all flawless. Every transition felt seamless, and they knew exactly how to keep the party going without ever making the night feel rushed or overproduced. Our guests are still talking about how amazing the music was. It truly made such a difference in the overall feeling of our wedding day. Brian and Mike were professional, talented, intuitive, and such a joy to work with. We would recommend them wholeheartedly to any couple looking for musicians who can bring both beauty and energy to a wedding celebration!!

We hired Brian for a private party and I honestly cannot say enough good things. He played keyboard and acoustic guitar, sometimes switching between the two like it was nothing, and his voice was stunning. Like, stop-your-conversation-mid-sentence stunning. I had written him about my husband's favorite group, Dawes, and he surprised us by singing, and playing one of our absolute favorites from them. It was so incredibly special! If you're on the fence about hiring live music for your next event, this is your sign. Book him. You will not regret it. 10/10, would absolutely have him back and we will!!!
