Thank you for your professionalism and compassion you had during this difficult time. I was able to speak with Erin prior to my husband's passing. When he finally passed it took one phone call and they were there at hospice to pick him up. They arranged everything including the military honor guard at the Baltimore National Cemetery. After my husband 's cremation they had everything ready for me to take him to the cemetery for internment. Celia, our funeral director, made decisions easy has she took her time and didn't rush me. If I am in The Baltimore area when I pass I am going to have them handle my final arrangements. Thanks to Craig Witzke for everything.

Craig Witzke, his family, and the staff of Candle Light Funeral Home are truly incredible. From the…read morebeginning of our contact with Craig, he really went above and beyond for our family after the sudden passing of my dad. They were able to make my dad really look like himself and at peace as our family and dad's friends said their goodbyes at his viewing. This was our family's first time needing to plan arrangements for a loved one so close to us and Craig facilitated this process with ease. He was available 24/7 by phone even during the holiday to answer all of our questions (as well as friends calling the funeral home) and make sure that dad's viewings and arrangements for transport to California (for burial) were settled. He was extremely accommodating to all of our requests. He consistently checked up on us during each 3 viewings to make sure that things were going smoothly and to see if we were okay. Craig really showed his excellence for me when he stepped away from his own family and arranged a short time for my mom, sisters, and I to see my dad on Christmas Eve before my dad was flown to California. It meant the world to us, especially my mom. Furthermore, after the burial was completed, Craig called us to make sure everything went smoothly with the transportation. Thank you to Craig and his staff for your wonderful services during this difficult time in our lives.

As Baltimore natives, over the decades, our family members have used a variety of funeral homes…read moreafter the deaths of our loved ones. Some have been pretty good, and others have unfortunately not met our expectations. In fact. one large funeral establishment that sits on a hill, off the beltway in Lutherville, did such a poor job with my father that I asked the mortician the identity of the "man in the box". When my mom recently passed away we researched some funeral options. Several years ago I attended a funeral for a friend at Johnson-Fosbrink and I was impressed with the caring attitude and professionalism of the staff. I was not disappointed when we negotiated with Tim Fosbrink concerning my mom's arrangements. The price was very reasonable given our desires. Straight off the bat Tim advised us that we would not incur a $700.00 embalming fee if we were cremating my mom, (which was her preference). Unless I was an "insider" I wouldn't have known that. The funeral home was also able to create a wonderful DVD video package chronicling mom's life. Heather, Tim and all the staff were respectful, gracious and accommodating. The physical plant was clean and beautiful. I highly recommend Johnson-Fosbrink. They are top drawer.

The hours and days after his passing were a nightmare for us as we grieved our dad and had to also try and make sense of all the logistical items that came with his passing. Daniele Schott was our primary point of contact, but no matter who we spoke to over the phone or by email, we received prompt and compassionate guidance and responses. We weren't the most organized family they've probably had to deal with, and we are also bicoastal, but they were so flexible in making themselves available to meet virtually, by phone, or in-person and pivoted gracefully as we fumbled along. I'm really so very grateful to Sol Levinson & Bros for their care during those early days and even beyond through the provision of their Everything After grief and estate guidance program.

I was struck by the sincerity of the staff.. not the usual slickness that is accompanied by questionable sympathy. My friend was never rushed or pressurred.. and the represenative that worked with us was a truly likeable and easygoing guy. I also like that this business donates plots to fallen police and firemen. I will say the office building is quite outdated and a bit run down.. Actually doesn't smell that great.... but that is not why we come. We come for the grounds... which are beautiful and cater to a wide variety of cultures. It is very interesting to see the different ways people memorialize their loved ones, America is a melting pot and so are our funeral/burial customs. The niche here leans way from the mainstream American cemetary... although it certainly isnt too far out of the box. It is nice that they make it clear that they can find a way to honor almost any cultural tradition. They don't have headstones( just in laid markers) ... so all you see is beautiful green punctuated by a few family mausoleums. There is a lake in the middle with swans and ducks. It is placed on some gently sloping hills with some tall old trees. They have several themed gardens.. including a heroes garden, and lovely tranquility garden ( catering to the Asian population) .. as well as several others. Usually cemeteries are such depressing, creepy places.. but this looks like a well maintained park.. The main mausoleum, is quite nice and airy.. It has gone through a few style incarnations over the years.. but it actually works well... i found the building to have a very serene overall effect. I came to be of comfort to a friend, but also ended up finding a place that just might suit my own family one sad day.

Divine is Waters' Queen and has been in all of his films. One would refer to her as his Muse. Where would we be if these two kids had not met and made beautiful, grotesque films together!?! If you are entering through the parking lot then drive down the cemetery and towards the end on the left you will spot the tombstone covered in all kinds of goodies.
