Homegirl won't get into every single detail, but an emergency C-section was needed to assure homebaby came out a happy home fry. Homegirl has to say, emergency scenarios are no joke and the surgeons, nurses, doctors, midwives, were top notch. A special shout out to nurses Wendy, Irene, Natasha, midwife Lisa (who was a boss in the OR), and of course the dozens of others involved in caring for just one little family staying at Women&Infants. During homegirls 3 -4 day stay there were just 2 nurses out of the dozens, that really creased Homegirls eye shadow. Rolling your eyes so much wrecks this freshly beat face. Homegirls Hospital stay was like any other. There was however one exception. With the bun out of the oven, Homegirl is needing to save some serious dough. Homegirl was a lioness before home baby, but now she's really on the hunt for deals. She wants you to know you can make out good and take out good at these hospitals. Homegirl has acquired enough mesh underwear to make a queen size quilt. She's also dunking her free maxi pads in soapy water and sticking them to her Swiffer. Yo girl then snagged a roll of Scott's toilet paper. Sure, it's not the Charmin Ultra her tenderness deserves but it's a free roll, honey. Homegirl will take single ply if it don't cost her a penny to buy. Homegirl also got herself one of those hospital tubs. You know, the kind that goes by your bed side "just in case". That off putting pink is now a permanent fixture in Homegirls sink, helping homegirls water bills. This quality freebie, is the Swiss Army knife of any domesticated house wife. Homegirl got hers and can help you get yours. At the end of the day, Homegirl was overjoyed to finally have her baby. But the recovery was rough and she was looking for anything to sweeten the deal. She found her freebies, was served breakfast, lunch and dinner, and overall really appreciated every person who helped out her home-family. Women and Infants was top notch.

I was completely impressed with the staff, cleanliness of the rooms and how attentive and truely caring the staff was. Having taken care of elderly family members my wife and I have seen our share of the inside of hospitals in the Midwest and East Coast, I never experienced anything near the level of cleanliness and competency we saw here.

At the time I was experiencing building fatigue that got worse regardless of what I did. Constance insisted that it was my mental health. At the time, I trusted her despite being unsure why I'd be depressed or anxious. She tried making me dig for reasons despite not having any as I've always been driven and overall happy. Mental illness should always be a diagnosis of exclusion yet that didn't seem to apply here. When antidepressants didn't work, instead of investigating further, she told me that it must be 'treatment resistant depression' or BPD. She said that I probably needed more 'intensive' treatment. She was unfortunately one of my first (but not last) experiences with medical gaslighting. Low-and-behold just this year I was finally diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis! Except it took my health going south and being put out of work to get diagnosed. My health is now completely in shambles and all I can do is wonder if at the very beginning, had she listened to me, if things would be different. It's sad that just one doctor can cause so much damage by claiming that it was all in one's head. I had to suffer for years. It was incredibly traumatic and I can't possibly recommend an office like this to anyone after what I've experienced.

My previous partner had hooked up with someone without my knowledge (yep that was a fun overshare) and I wanted to rush to go get a test to check for safety sake. Sadly I learned quite a bit about the healthcare system in Providence/Rhode Island as a whole in a way that really bummed this little journalist from Los Angeles, California out. Did you know that there are only two PP in the entire state of RI? This location is, of course, nestled near a church. It is frustrating because it means that there are often protestors in front of this clinic because, of the church and things that are currently going on in our SCOTUS. My worry happened earlier this summer after the Texas abortion ban started its journey. Protesters were likely ecstatic about this... and this was bound to make folks feel uncomfortable as they went about their business. When I called about making an appointment I found that sadly it was difficult to get one due to several reasons: 1)Again, there are only two PP in the whole tiniest state in the US (which also, I might add, hosts a college that really needs to have more healthcare options such as PP 2)The fact that I had out of state insurance which, well, meant that I would have to pay nearly $200 for my routine services 3)That it would be 2 weeks before I could get an appointment due to the non-emergency nature of things. If I had needed a procedure, it... would also not have been immediate, again because see item 1. I'm giving PP 5 stars for the work that they are doing in a state that needs & deserves more assistance than it currently has. It was eye-opening to have the experience I had (on several levels like seriously the fact that that happened with my previous relationship was horrible although not uncommon sadly) and find the lack of healthcare options for people with uteruses. At some point, I may write about it more than just on a Yelp review. It is something that deserves more attention and care for a bigger audience, especially since, during the time that I was out there there was an article about the rapes that have been alleged to have happened at Brown (see this article from MSNBC in August 2021: https://nbcnews.to/3z81IFS) and, well, thank you once again PP for being there when help was needed... or at least attempting to be. The people on the phone were tremendously kind and understanding about everything. I felt safe and cared for during my discussions with the healthcare providers there. PP serves as a lifeline to its community there in Providence... as well as an unexpected educator about how much our healthcare systems need work not just locally but all across our country. Dr. Behtash was recommended to me by my doctor at Memorial Hospital, Dr. Susanna Magee - who was my doctor for both of my pregnancies. I enjoyed Dr Magee's style, ease of emailing communication, and asked for her to recommend a local provider to be my regular physician. Dr. Behtash runs a micro office, which allows her to spend a ton more time with her patience -- you set up your appointments, and even email her through an app or online. This helps because she is the one who writes back to you - not a nurse! My first visit with her was about an hour. She took the time to truly understand me and my history, and has been incredibly kind at subsequent visits. She is young, knowledgable, warm, and welcoming - and I 100% recommend her to others! My husband just made the switch, and he said the quality of care was unlike anything he had ever experienced. And the best part - barely any waiting for my appointment!

This place is OK, just OK. I've experienced much better…read more My doctor scheduled a level 2 ultrasound for me at New Beginnings, she said it was the best place in RI to have ultrasounds done. The equipment is supposed to be top of the line and they have the best sonographers in all of RI, so she said. I reluctantly agreed to schedule my level 2 there as I'm 45 mins away from there and I usually go to Narragansett radiology. I read some reviews for New Beginnings on super pages and they weren't great. Not to mention that the tech at Narragansett radiology said that the man there had "terrible bedside manners". I prepared myself for the worst and gladly my experience wasn't a bad one. The decor in this place is like no other. Really modern and beautiful, it doesn't feel like a medical office when you walk in at all, it's more like a cafe or something. It's very nice and comfortable. The bathrooms are huge, and I mean huge, they seriously have a shower in them and there are actual towels for you to dry your hands on - wow. The ultrasound rooms on the other hand weren't special at all and just plain, the bed was horribly uncomfortable. I had back pain so bad it made me nauseous. The bed was too short and my lower legs were hanging off which caused a horrific strain on my back. A level 2 takes time so it was not pleasant to say the least. I could barely pay attention to seeing my baby because the pain was so bad. The tech I had, can't remember if her name was Diane, Dana but it was for sure a d name. She never explained anything, I had to ask her what she was looking at every time. She asked if I wanted to know the gender, I said yes, she said there was no penis but did not show us, nor did she take a pic. I left with 3 mediocre pictures, my Dr. told me I would get a "bunch" and some 3D ones. My baby wouldn't cooperate and show her face so we couldn't get a 3D of the face, but she didn't even try with the gender. We did meet with the genetic counselor, who supposedly has bad bedside manner. He was very pleasant, not demeaning at all, and had a lot of good info for us. Although, we had no abnormal findings on our ultrasound. Maybe he is different if there are...I don't know. Overall, I was not impressed at all. I'd rather go to a place where the tech explains everything they are doing and shows you your baby's gender. I could have just gotten a bad tech but there is always that chance if I go back. I need regular growth scans and I won't be choosing this place to get them.
