Dr. Elizabeth Lee conducted two psychological evaluations during our custody case. The first was seriously flawed--overlooking key risk factors, omitting or misrepresenting critical facts, minimizing documented abuse, and pathologizing both our child and the protective parent. It became the basis for court-ordered "reunification" and individual therapy, which caused significant emotional harm to our child and financially benefited at least seven local therapists, including Dr. Lee herself. A second evaluation--conducted later with full context--more accurately described our family and identified previously omitted diagnoses. Dr. Lee ultimately admitted, "You have the right to be angry with me for the rest of your life." That says more than I ever could. But the consequences of her failures aren't hers to carry--they are ours. Following the second evaluation, the court granted sole legal and physical custody to the protective parent, and our child is now safe. Still, the emotional, psychological, and financial damage was substantial--and, I believe it likely, entirely preventable. We are not alone in raising concerns. I encourage anyone considering Dr. Lee's forensic evaluation services to proceed with caution. Children deserve better. Families deserve better.

It was evident that she spent significant time and effort understanding the full picture--not just what was presented on the surface, but the deeper patterns and dynamics that truly matter in these situations. She remained objective while being incredibly insightful and thoughtful. Her questions were purposeful, her follow-ups thorough, and the final report was comprehensive and clearly grounded in what would best support the children's long-term well-being. Her work reflects a rare level of diligence and care in a process that carries so much weight. I'd urge you to remember that as with any high-stakes evaluation, not everyone will walk away happy with the outcome--and it's quite clear that the negative reviews reflect the perspective of those who were dissatisfied with the findings. That shouldn't be taken as a reflection of the evaluator's professionalism or capability. If anything, it speaks to the difficult nature of these processes and her willingness to report honestly, even when it's not what one party wants to hear. If you're looking for someone who will take their role seriously, put the children first, and dig deeply to understand what's truly going on, she is exactly who you want.

Also, if you read many of the negative reviews, they all seem to have the exact same spelling error... so make of that what you will. Unlike some of the reviewers, my experience with Elizabeth Lee was not in a court-appointed situation, so I can provide a review with which is not flavored by either a positive or negative experience. By far, Elizabeth Lee is the best therapist I have had the experience to work with, and we visited a number of therapists in a number of locations throughout the country.
