With that said, anyone can find a home here, especially if you want to throw hell and damnation to the side and focus on love, and self-growth, and a general aspiration for feeling good about life. This place naturally, without effort, for the first time in my life, makes me prioritize my Sundays around service and makes me excited to be involved in mid-week activities. It's genuinely changed my life. The minister makes this place the wonderful sanctuary that it is, and I hope he sticks around for a very long time. It is definitely not the "stand behind the pulpit, monotone voice" kind of place. Man, it just makes my heart sing. You'll be heard, you'll be valued, you'll be loved, you'll be welcomed. I hope you check it out. They have classes, gatherings, fellowships, service, a bookstore, and a loaner library, plus more, all rolled into one.

The signs said something like "Best chicken dinner in the world" or something like that. Right. I was skeptical. So I decided to take them up on their word. Holy cow! Or rather, Holy chicken! That was a most incredible chicken dish that I have ever had! So much so, I immediately started searching the Internet for a similar recipe because this festival is only once a year and I'd like to have that chicken more frequently than that. Here's an indication of how good it was. My daughter does not like to eat meat off a bone. She doesn't do fried chicken for that reason. She does chicken tenders. But she ordered this too. She devoured it. Devoured it. She even said half way through it, "I can't believe I'm eating this off of the bone!" Yeah, me, neither. I was just going to mention that as a matter of fact. She loved it so much that she wanted every little speck of meat. So, so good! My wife had a gyro. She really enjoyed it. I tried the pita. It was so good. This festival is just fun. Lots of food, entertainment. Lines for food are long, but go quickly and if you come after 7:30-ish, 8:00, there are no lines. This is a Tucson must-do. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

The worship was really good and the message was something I could relate to and take with me after leaving. I really liked the atmosphere of the church, it felt very welcoming and not like you was just another person walking through the doors. You could tell that people really cared about each other and about sharing the love of Jesus. I'm glad I decided to come visit and I would definitely recommend Second Mile Church to anyone looking for a church family in Tucson. I'm looking forward to coming back and learning more about this church.

Before we got too involved with this review, understand my bride and I have been attending and…read moreserving at CrossRoads Church over 2 years. I wanted to disclose that before your brain started thinking this is a planted review and you disregard everything I write. I'll rewind the clock and write a portion of this review in light of the reasons we've been here for over 2 years. The first time we arrived, we were greeted with smiles and a sincere "welcome". I had actually visited the church on a Saturday morning when the men were meeting to discuss courageous living as husbands and fathers who follow of Jesus Christ. The morning was very relational and not over programmed and rigid, a quality we hold high as a standard in our ministry to men. My bride and I visited the church not too long before Christmas, I remember because we were being invited to return for the pot luck and talent show the next week. I am typically unsociable until I am comfortable, and it takes me a few weeks to warm up to people...but we decided to invest ourselves and see what would happen. I remember wanting to sit close to the door so we could leave and not be seen. My plan did not work out so well and we sat toward the front in the middle. I remember feeling settled and peaceful while I was surrounded by over 100 strangers. Many faces have come and gone in the 2.5 years we've been there. Some return to visit and others we still keep in touch with through social media or by bumping into them in the community. There have been some changes to the building since we arrived; new carpet, change in the decor (table cloths, food pantry, seating arraignment), and minor changes in the staff and leadership. What has not changed is the commitment to serve one another and our neighbors. We typically teach through entire books of the bible, verse by verse. We are involved in and/or supporting man ministries that provide outreach to the homeless and poor of our city. We hold to the biblical principle that we are to train up leaders and send them out to share Jesus and train up leaders. I am involved with the teaching/preaching team at CrossRoads Church and currently serve as an elder in the leadership of the church. Stop by on a Sunday morning if you're in the area. Services are at 9:00 AM and 10:15 AM.

I sat in the foyer till the end of the service, until my friend returned. We were inured. The people were super, but the sound level was too uncomfortable. We found it odd that the did not have any flyers or bulletins. Sadly, we will not return. Reposted.
