But between the immaculate new fixtures and beautiful signage, an excellent and fairly well-priced wine selection, and the ridiculously hot guy who (or whose family) seems to own the place (the first time I went there were 3 or 4 generations crowding the store, when they first opened), and the walk-ability for me, there's not much to complain about. Parking sucks-- this is in the old Store 24 on Arsenal by the Super 8 and it's hard to get in and out of if you're driving, but I'm not!) Seriously ladies, you have to go see this guy. I assume they're Armenian but I could be wrong. He's one tall dark drink of water though, as they say o_O.

I just visited Spirited Gourmet today to learn more about a program they participate in called "Too…read moreGood to Go." I was interested in this program as it is geared toward two noble goals: reducing food waste; and addressing food insecurity. I downloaded the app and purchased a "surprise package" online that had a retail value of $13.00 and cost me $4.27. The gentleman behind the food counter knew immediately what I meant when I mentioned the program and gave me my surprise bag containing two baguettes from Iggy's as well as a one pound of fresh, gluten free gnocchi (I had indicated that I was gluten free in the app). All items were within their freshness dates and the gnocchi were excellent. The employee who assisted me was both extremely courteous and knowledgeable about the program. I really want to commend both the Spirited Gourmet for participating in Too Good to Go as well as the program itself. I live in Belmont and because of this experience will certainly frequent this store-I hope you will as well! Thank you, Spirited Gourmet!

Recently, since I've become disabled, I'd called in a delivery order with no problem -- John had always been helpful -- until he left the store. Then I'd order through Kevin, also very helpful. Today, when I ordered, two people who didn't speak English tried to help me but had trouble taking the order. Suddenly, when I asked to speak to someone who could better understand me, Edward came on the line and said -- suddenly-- that the manager had decided not to take the order. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told he was "tied up". Bottom line -- used to be friendly and helpful. Not anymore. Too bad.
