He is unethical and unprofessional. He never met with me before, during, or after trial. I tried for 4 weeks to meet him, before he raised his voice and told me that he was done with me and had nothing to discuss. He had me sign paperwork that prevents me from seeing my son, gives the house to my wife, and other bad things. He even had that gaul to say I didn't know how to read. Apparently he doesn't, because my wife is now threatening a restraining order because I called my son twice in one day. He is just the worst. If you do some research unlike I did before I hired him, you will find he has lost his license previously for ethics violations in Maryland and Connecticut. This lawyer left me deeply emotionally and financially traumatized. I would not recommend him for a criminal case. He made several promises and failed to keep any of them. He arrives late to court and is unprepared for the case. I hired him so you could have a say, and in my poor defense, no communication with his client. He was paid $10,000. For a year, we haven't seen any defense from him. He's frustrated. Paying so much for a good defense that doesn't exist. Deeply traumatized emotionally and financially by this attorney. I would not suggest him at all for a custody case. He made several promises to me and did not follow through with one of them. Showed up late to court, did ZERO case preparation that lead to my motion being discarded despite being properly served and on the docket. I hired him to have a voice and have my pending motions heard and he took that from me. Told me I needed nothing for court day. Despite his suggestion I brought my own evidence and that is the only thing that provided evidence and kept me from being in contempt. If I had listened to him I would have lost. He promised to file for sole custody, attorney fees, motion to leave to avoid further legal abuse and did no such thing. Takes 2 weeks to even get back to you. Engaged in bizarre phone calls with my mentally ill ex and sent me the bill. $8500 in one court date. Money I worked so hard for and will never recover. I lose sleep just thinking about how horrible this attorney was to me and my son. He has been punished by the bar before as well as arrested. When you question him he will resort to gaslighting you. Very unprofessional lawyer. Has you pay upfront, then does nothing for you. In months where he was telling me that we would work on settlement proposal, filing motions, etc. I came to realize after he got suspended for disciplinary reasons that he had acutally done NOTHING on my case at all since the beginning!! Came here to say what others had unfortunately already shared. RUN from this incompetent, unethical, unreliable person. Like others here have shared, he took what was our most vulnerable time and exploited this all to make himself some money at the expense of our stress and difficulties. He failed to respond to basic communications, failed to inform us about important updates in our case and ultimately was unable to provide us with important legal advice as he got himself suspended multiple times during the time we retained him. Called for a consultation regarding a legal matter and did not have a courteous interaction with him over the phone. He seemed curt, scoffed when I tried to explanation about my situation, explained very little in regards to the divorce process, but was very quick to mention his processing fee. I even requested a date for an appointment for a formal consultation (because some attorneys will provide basic info and require a consultation fee) and he stated "There's no need to even in meet in person, you just need to start the process". Overall, the interaction was not pleasant to dish out 4K+ for legal representation. If you're a 1st time divorcee and unfamiliar with the process, I wouldn't recommend. read more

THIS ATTORNEY IS UNDER FEDERAL INDICTMENT. STAY AWAY! He never told me, which is an ethics violation. He'll take your money and you will never hear from him again. The only time Mr. Hardy has ever brought his A game was when he wanted to take my case(s) and my money. After that he doesn't want to know you, hear from you let alone ask him any questions. He promises he can make the sun rise set wherever you want it to. Never keeps you posted at all. Blows by the most important parts of cases unilaterally; without my notification. And never ever has made one apology. He is far left so don't even think of hiring home for 2nd Amendment issues. He has a proven track record. Always lieing and not good at it at all. In three seconds he'll give you four different lies. He's had 4 emergencies, again, at the most critical points you need him. He'll never go out of his way to go to court just for you. He waits til he has 3 or 4 cases to schedule them on the same day. He is no longer on avvo and was written up for misconduct according to them. Why would an alleged great attorney be written up and then no longer part of avvo like all the good ones? He charges you for things that he promises to give you copies and never ever does.
