As…read moresome may know planning a funeral for anyone is as hard as things can get in life so I was especially grateful to be somewhere where our grief was not being taken advantage of like so many funeral homes are known to do. Brendon did an outstanding job preparing my father for viewing. He looked so handsome and looked as if he was in a truly peaceful sleep. Words could never properly convey how much that meant to us, it made things easier for my Mother to see him look so peaceful. I won't ever forget asking Brendon about the preparing of the body...yes I asked. He is my father and I wanted to make sure that every step of his death was met with as much dignity ,love and care as possible. I asked him will you take care of him in a caring manner or are you detached when doing this particular job? He said he couldn't do this job if he didn't care about the people that came across to him. In addition the owner of the funeral home (he didn't see that I saw this) came to pick up my father at hospice stopped for a moment before wheeling him off to the funeral home and crossed himself and said a short prayer. I cant tell you how much that meant to me. It showed me that death wasn't just business for them. Kurt was the utmost compassionate and patient and went above and beyond and out of his way to enable my father's services to occur the way I had hoped them to, all while being mindful of cost. My brother-in-law Aaron passed away at Geisinger's Medical Center in Scranton on November 2024 and…read moresince we live out of state, we asked the hospital to recommend a funeral home. The recommended Edward Chomko in Scranton and we were blown away by their professionalism and attentiveness. It is a long running family business and we dealt with Andy. He went so far above and beyond, that it lifted such a huge burden in the midst of our grieving. He not only picked us up at our hotel since our car's " check engine" light was on, he called Geisinger's to make arrangements for us to pick up Aaron's belongings and he drove us there, came in and waited for us to pick them up and he drove us back to the hotel. He made the arrangements so easy and even sat with us when we had to speak to the local bank about closing the account and getting the death certificate over to them. It really restored our faith in humanity seeing how far out of his way Andy went; especially at a time when its hard to think clearly and grieve at the same time. I cannot recommend them enough.

Both Edward and his son Andy went above the call of duty (yes they served our country during war times) to ensure our mom received the much deserved burial.
