This place is a good course to play if you can get on. Sometimes it's in great shape, others times it's not, but it's definitely challenging and fun. Getting a tee time is impossible even with a city card. Certain groups already got caught cheating the system to where the same people were getting the tee times. And I think it's still happening The last person caught with having bots and a system that took up all the tee times was Korean and it may still be happening because 95% of the groups with tee times out here are Korean. So the city needs to really look into it again, because the city card is pointless if you can't get a tee time even if you're logged in at the exact time they come out. But yet they charge you for the card, that really gets you nothing... BUT you can always come out and wait to hours and get on, then end up behind those groups that hit it short 150-200 yards, but pkay from the blue tees and blacks tees. Six hour round, plus two hour wait, ends up being an 8 hour round. Can't get tee times online! Long wait if you show up! Long round if you get on! There's no Marshall, there's nobody managing the course. So everyone is on their own, taking all the time in the world...people say "it's the city" but why does our city not care? I'll keep trying to get a time, but I've been trying for years.... read more

On PAR with other local courses in the area. Well maintained fairways and greens although my golf balls found every opportunity to hide behind massive trees. The fairways are wide and very forgiving. Great for beginner golfers. Lots of trees line the fairways and the terrain is hilly making the course scenic to some extent but may give you lies where you are slanting up or down on your swing. I enjoyed the course and would come back again. Love the local wildlife on the course too. Saw some deer, lots of coyotes, and tons of bunnies...but sadly no BIRDIEs for me. un-FORE-tunately shot a high round for me, but I'll be back and better than ever! read more

The course seems to be lacking proper maintenance. There were numerous patches of barren turf in some fairways. Areas around the greens were unkempt with leaves, uneven turf and areas with no grass. Several greens looked sick and 15 was almost unplayable. This place needs help. The city needs to get their act together for this old school course. read more

Very beautiful course. We came just to use the driving range and do some putting and really enjoyed ourselves. Went there about 10 AM on a Sunday and it was pretty crowded but still got a stall right away to hit some balls. Then we moved on to the putting green and had fun! Nice little restaurant to get some cold drinks or eat, but we didn't go in. We were having lunch elsewhere. Will try it next time. Just very beautiful grounds. Look forward to coming back. read more

Never coming back. Teeboxes are hard as a rock, not even able to stick my tee in the ground. Kept up terribly with dirt patches and sand everywhere. Not only that, also fallen and dead trees every hole. I can't even believe that it costs $120 for a terrible experience. Guy in the front was nice, but the course was terrible. I felt blessed when the round was over and could go home because I will hopefully never ever play here again. read more

I was really looking forward to it since I've never played a city of LA course since it was near impossible to get a tee time in the past due to online brokering. Boy was I disappointed: 1. Gopher holes everywhere 2. Punched greens with ZERO notification 3. Rude clientele 4. Tee boxes in terrible condition 5. played a tournament there Sunday July 28, 2025. Beautiful part of L.A. but the golf course was a mess. The tee boxes haven't been mowed in days and were patches of dirt and weeds. The fairways were good at best with patches of weeds and ground under repair along the sides of the fairway, played there a lot. The greens were slow not mowed in days. The sand traps had weeds growing in them along with a good amount of leaves. I think the money to be spent to clean and maintain a descent golf course was probably was given to illegals rather than citizens. Many shots were off dirt areas and tall weeds. I don't think I will ever pay to play at this disaster of a place. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. We've never been to this course before and we got there 15 minutes before our tee time. Parking was pretty inconvenient and took us longer than expected to get to the clubhouse. Got to check-in 5 minutes before the tee time (not preferable but not too bad). The guy at the desk thinks it's appropriate to scold me like a child and tell me that we're supposed to check-in 20 minutes early (reminder that I've never been to this course before and I've golfed for 6 years and have never been told that we NEED to check-in 20 minutes before. Any course I've been to tells me 10 minutes.) But, I don't mind being told that they prefer people to check-in early, but there's a professional and respectful way to do it. He also noted that the people we were supposed to be paired up with already teed off which doesn't make sense considering that we were still 5 minutes early. On top of that, the course layout is really bad, the greens are poorly taken care of and extremely inconsistent (first 6 holes were a normal pace then they all-of-a-sudden became lightning fast) and the course doesn't even loop around to the clubhouse halfway through. So no food or break after hole 9, and they don't have a food/snack cart that would easily fix that problem. Just one of the worst golf experiences I've ever had and I'm happy at the thought that I will not be coming back to either Griffith Park courses ever. read more

The driving range is really unreliable. Very often I arrive before 8PM and it's closed when it's supposed to be open until 8:30. No sign, just closed. I drive 30min to get there so I've wasted an hour of my time for nothing. You can try calling ahead but they rarely answer. Very frustrating. read more

I attended a tournament here on Sunday October 1, and left my range finder on the golf cart, it's the magnetic one. I called immediately afterwards to find it and was told to call back the next day. I called first thing next day and a man said to call back in half an hour, called back and he said it's not there. I explained how I was 100% sure that I left it on the cart but he questioned me rudely and told me I am probably mistaken. Asked for manager but they won't let me speak to him because he's busy, and told me to complain to the city. They don't have honest people working there and doesn't want to help you to find my $500 range finder. Don't leave anything inside the golf cart if you ever play here!!! read more

Initially, I had very low expectations about this golf course considering it was another municipal course in Los Angeles. The course doesn't have tee call times or a Marshall which I think would be helpful but the overall club house was weirdly organized. After getting on the course, remember Harding first tee is up the little hill on the left, it had a pretty decent view of the Griffith park mountains. The course had its challenges and the overall game moved at a pretty decent pace. With narrow fairways and small greens it creates the perfect challenge for players looking to improve their short game. This golf course was a little gem worth playing again and worth the walk to enjoy the landscape. My friend and I are looking forward to playing Wilson and hope the views are comparable. read more

My fiancé, sister, her boyfriend and I all made a day at Harding! We were so excited to get on the course. It was a beautiful, hot and sunny day and we had a tee time at 11 AM. We scheduled our tee time ahead online. We decided to enjoy breakfast before we got there. They were really busy so they pushed our tee time another 15 minutes, which we were actually excited about since they gave us time to hit a few balls on the range. We enjoyed breakfast there first. The breakfast was just OK. There was a weird smell coming from the entrance and the floors were wet, so that was a little bit unfortunate. The service was fine but the food, again was not great. Our golfing day, however was spectacular. It's not the most beautiful and groomed course I've ever seen, but it had everything we needed to have a great day golfing. We had to pay to hit balls at the driving range, we had to pay to rent two carts as well. Overall, the timing went well. We didn't have to wait that much which is my favorite! Overall, I would definitely come back here again. It wasn't very expensive and it was an awesome day! read more

My best friend got hit by a golf ball from Harding on her windshield while she was driving on the Freeway 5 (one of the most busy freeways in Los Angeles) a couple of days ago, almost causing a critical car accident. When she went to the golf course to bring attention to this matter, she was told "It happens often". Not the healthiest response to something that could of caused one (if not multiple) car collisions. I give this Golf Course a one star review (since Yelp doesn't allow me to give less than that), based on the simple fact that the golf course is well aware of the serious danger of the golf balls hitting cars on the freeway 5, yet nothing seems to be done in order to avoid future potential car accidents. Human safety should be key in business management. read more

The course is in the best shape I have ever seen it the past 3 years. There were upgrades last year for a special olympics event. More cart paths were added. The course is very green, even in the midst of our drought. Greens are hard and fast due to high capacity of players. The reason for the 1 star is that on one occasion, another player picked up my ball. I told them it was mine. They pretended not to understand me, then the players I was grouped with, yelled it out. Then they dropped my ball. On another hole, the same round, I hit into the tree line. When I got to that area, another group of ladies was hitting their 2nd shot. My ball was nowhere to be found. Who picks up Wilson Staff Duo's? The round took 4:45. On a Wednesday teeing off at 10:45 am. There was a 4-some of older gentlemen in front of us. At each hole, we waited 5-10 min. They were not playing ready ball. They waited to hit their 2nd shot bc the group before them was on the green 250~ yds out. They hit 150... The course could benefit from a beverage cart and a marshall. In all the years I have been here, I have not seen either. The beverage cart would have alleviated the incredible slow play. The slow pace ruins tempo. Will return only during an earthquake or rain. Some of the clientele here are rude and do not practice golf etiquette. Last- the range balls are the worst condition balls I have ever seem. I have been around SoCal's golf courses and these make me cringe. Not even washed. They are marked with dirt, dings and nicks. read more

Played here last week again on a weekday, which is pretty rare for me. Conditions again were surprisingly good, especially with the drought and amount of traffic this course gets. They added new Black tees behind the Blues but for most holes, it's just where the blues used to be and now the blues are moved up a few yards. One thing to note, I've only used the driving range once or twice here but I would give this place 1 star for the driving range area. The chipping area is decent, but the mats and balls at the driving range are pretty old and should be replaced. read more

I went with my son and had a good time. The course is decent but busy. We went after five due to the heat, so that may be another reason it was busy. Pricing was very fair. We paid $22 with a cart. In July they have a program where kids pay $1. For how busy this place is, the course was in decent shape and the greens weren't beaten too bad. It was tough to relax though because I felt so hurried. It's a short drive from the house and pricing is good so we will go back for sure. read more

Been playing Wilson and Harding golf courses for close to 15 years now. Harding is a shorter, tighter golf course, but Wilson is more a fan favorite for some reason. It is a City of LA maintained course- which means you will have some dry spots in the fairway, a few chewed up greens, some ground under repair, and if you play early in the morning, wet sand traps. It isn't the worst course out there- far better than Encino or Balboa. Harding GC offers some elevation changes, although not much, a few well placed bunkers, and a few long holes. I always play here before 10am and always avoid the weekends. Like other LA muni courses it can get a bit slow if you get a late start. All in all I enjoy playing here. -Wilson and Harding Golf courses are easily walkable (I never ride here) -There is plenty of parking relatively close to the club house -They serve beer in the restaurant in mugs that resemble icebergs! Perfect way to end a round of golf! -Look out for deer and coyotes- both wander the course frequently read more

We arrived before the tee time and when asked where to go and to pay for carts he said he sold our tee time to someone else? For a first time customer and someone that made this tee time a week in advance this is unprofessional and amateur of an establishment. Golf could be great shape but the people who work here aren't, they take it out on their customers. Leaving this shit review cause personally the way I was spoken to I think anyone else would too. This goes out to the course manager CHUCK LUIS. THIS GOLF COURSE HAS ROBBED ME OFF $90 ON MY BANK ACCOUNT WITHOUT NOTICE! I booked a tee time through golfnow.com for Wilson golf course on Dec 11 2014 @ 7:24am. The booking was for a 4 sum. I got to the course that morning and two of my friends didn't turn up due to a family emergency, baring in mind that they are brothers. Bottom line is I didn't have time to cancel their tee time on golfnow.com nor the course as I was already at the course when I found out they are not coming. My other friend and I played without any hiccup. 2 days later I looked at my online bank statement and I noticed that there was $90 missing through golfnow purchase. So I called golfnow.com and Wilson and Harding golf course. They said its because 2 of my friends didn't show up and I didn't cancel them. They have never said anything when we where checking in. The course has charged me a full price for both people that didn't turn up. $45 each with a cart! Total of $90. I have spoken to both parties ie golfnow and Wilson and Harding. The course manager of Wilson and Harding CHUCK LUIS basically told me that, it's their course policy and would NOT return the money they stole from me. This what I call daylight robbery! If I can give negative stars I would! Just beware of this course and management in this place. If your going to book on golfnow and at the very last minute ur playing partners didn't show up. Had a chance to play Harding on the MLK holiday. The course wasn't in great shape, but it's hard to grow grass in winter so I'll cut the groundskeeping staff some slack. However, there was a little imbalance because there were dry, dead patches of fairway on some holes, and overwatered, muddy fairways on others. (It hasn't rained in over 1 week, so I don't think it was caused by rain.) There is just enough trouble to keep the course interesting, and the par 3s are pretty long. I had to hit 3 hybrid on the 178-yard uphill par 3. The greens were in decent shape and much faster than what I'm used to. The pro shop is nothing special and the fee was pretty expensive - $52 with cart. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because our group finished in only 4 hours! There was no one in front of us, and we were allowed to tee off earlier than our reservation. There is a snack stand on 8th hole, and a few restrooms strategically placed. Don't expect to come back to the clubhouse on the 9th hole - just keep playing. One thing that I think would make the course better is signage for the golf carts. There are many times that the cart path would fork, and it wasn't always clear which direction would lead to the next hole. Bring a local who played this course before, if you can. read more

Great course in Los Angeles. Had a 8am tee time on a Sunday and finished in 4hrs 15 minutes. Relatively easy course but the conditions are pretty good. Only ran into a few dry spots most of the fairways were in great shape. I'm a 15hcap but still shot a 14 over playing from the blacks. This is a great course for long hitters. It's great to play on a course with lots of trees. The holes were mostly straight but it didn't seem like you were playing the same hole over and over. The greens were in pretty good shape considering they are still recovering from being punched. They are on the slow side though. I'll definitely be back. read more

I've only played Harding 3 times at twilight so I only get nine holes in at the most, but only pay $12 to walk it. Well worth the couple hours of play before it's too dark. During the day and especially weekends I would expect slow play. So why do I think my review is relevant? Because I learned to play golf at the practice facility at Wilson/Harding and I have spent hours at the pitching and putting areas for $0. Monday and Friday I take advantage of the 6 medium bucket deal for $21. I don't practice at the range very often but $3.50 for a bucket is really a good deal. Some other reviews complain about the staff at the pro shop, but I found if you smile at the employees they will be nice back to you. I buy an occasional glove there too and found a pair of very comfortable shoes on sale. Thank you City of LA and Roger Barber for making golf affordable! Couse conditions were good today, the grass is cut appropriately on the fairway and the rough areas are not too deep. I noticed they went through with sand to fill the big divots on the fairways. Very fast greens and not to many ball marks, thanks fellow golfers! The fairways are wide and forgiving and the challenge is close to the hole so bring your short game. Have fun! Golf is tough enough so just go with the flow. If you want to get uppity go join a private course for thousands of dollars. This is no place for attitude, golf is for everyone, come enjoy! read more

Played here 10 days ago and the grass if fine. This is the second best muni in LA City, Wilson being the best. This course will ask you to hit lots of different shots. There are several elevated tees. The greens are less challenging than Wilson and overall this course is easier than Wilson. This track also has an incredible history, eg used to be Babe Ruth's favorite course. The last hole takes you up against the zoo and many times I have seen peacocks walking the fairway. This is a classic parkland course where the architecture is not dictated by the lack of land or the price of water. My idea of a great golf course is that every time you play it is different. Some course are just the same boring routine time after time. But a good course gives you choices off the tee (should I hit driver or should I hit five iron), giving you risk reward. You can play this course many different ways with many different results. This is a great course and I love playing it. This is a must play for every level of golfer. A truly classic course. read more

Had 28 palyer tournament here on last Saturday. Greens were great, and the fairways were fantastic. Even though it is a bit long distance for me to get there, I would gladly play more often. I encountered with 3 deers and 2 coyotes... exiting!! I would rate 5 stars, if the green fee is not more expensive than the other public courses. read more

While the Griffith Park staff has tried to work within the confines of the bureaucratic LA officials that now run it, they've stayed true to a very classic feel at Harding (and Wilson). This one plays a title shorter than Wilson but is a bit tighter. The driving range is a great practice facility with two tiers and is open until 9:30P. The chipping greens can be a little rough at times, but why do you want from a muni? Overall, a great municipal golf course, with a lot of fun for the average golfer. It can get very slow on weekends, though. read more

One of my favorite courses in LA. I like the look of this course. Griffith Park Is beautiful. You can sometimes see Deer and other wildlife (mostly ducks/ geese) the course is moderate: some challenges. A few narrow fairways and and some tough doglegs. The hardest hole is a hard dog leg draw with a sand trap 200 yards in. Course is only 6500 yards so don't be afraid to walk it! read more

Okay cool, comes back and smiles and says "yeah, we don't give refunds, sorry" his supervisor comes out of his office and says "why didn't you call us? Now I have to go find the cart!" When he gave me back my credit card, he literally slapped it down in front of me like he had a problem with me. I asked another employee in the pro shop what his deal was and he even said that the white guy was a total jerk. Couldn't stand that he was so mean to elder customers who just wanted to check in to play golf.. hope that guy learned a lesson! read more

Played Harding this past Saturday. They just aerated, so the greens are bumpy and slow, very hard to determine breaks, but I'm sure this will not be a problem as soon as the aeration holes grow over. Overall, this course is well maintained. Fariways are wide and long...make sure you bring your fairway woods as there are a couple of 400 yard holes and I think one or two 500 yarders. Challenging course for amateurs but a fun long course. I recommend going early as the course can take 4.5-6.5 hrs to complete. read more

It's a pretty nice course. Their are other ones that I like better but this one was good. Cons: They have slow pace of play and nobody fixes their divots. They need better course management. Pros: They have wide open fairways. It was a well kept course. Reasonable prices. They have 2 different 18's to choose from. Staff is friendly. read more
