Hard Rock Cafe, Berlin. Why not. Sometimes when you're away from home, you seek food that is familiar because you know just what to expect. This one is right on the corner, off Kurfürstendamm. When you walk through the front door, the retail shop is on the left and the restaurant is on the right. The store is open earlier than the restaurant, so they have a red rope in front that staff move once open. The ambiance is the same as any other Hard Rock Cafe. They have the usual photographs of musicians on the wall. I sat at a table right under a photo of Sting. There's a small car in the back and one of Robert Smith's guitars hanging on the wall near the kitchen. When I walked in, the host asked if I would be drinking only or ordering food. They wish to seat customers at the bar when it's drinks only. There are also tables outdoors, but because it was raining, I sat indoors. I ordered a blackberry sangria and fried chicken sliders. Both were good. My drink tasted better than my food. I was full afterwards. The sliders were a little larger than expected. It was like eating 1-1/2 of a regular sized sandwich. Staff were great. The Hard Rock Cafés are all across the globe. What you'll find within the walls of all of them, it's some mediocre Rock 'n Roll roll blasting over the speakers, as well as some semi decent food. From attending the opening of the very first Hard Rock Cafe, onto visiting many of them as they spread out across the globe, I feel like I have a pretty good idea about what they are all about. The thing is, most of them are very-very mediocre. The atmosphere isn't that great, this service is generally not that good, and the food is, (how can I say it), boring. This being said, the Berlin Hard Rock Cafe really has a lot more to offer than many of the other ones stationed in cities around the world. The thing that I noticed most about this Hard Rock Cafe is that the food here is very good. The service here is also very good, as well. In association with Servers that are very friendly, very nice, and really take care of their customers. Thus, among all of the remaining Hard Rock Cafés that I've been to over the last couple of years, the Berlin location really stands out. So, if you're in Berlin, and you want what the Hard Rock Cafe has to offer, this is your place to get it. read more

I, personally, happen to love the Hard Rock Cafe. Not for the food, but the atmosphere, decor, and memorabilia. I don't always eat there, but I do get a shirt. Hubs and I did eat HERE, as we were meeting up with a friend from home who happened to be in Berlin the same time we were. The food was fine, but nothing to write home about. Service was great and seating is actually on the second floor (first floor in Germany). It was a cool September night, so although the balcony doors were open, no one was eating outside. We were allowed to go out and take in the views, however. The shop is on the ground floor and is small compared to others I've been in, but well stocked. This is a one and done for me. Walking around in Charlottenburg we came upon this restaurant around 2 pm just in time for lunch. Can't remember when's the last time I went to a Hard Rock Cafe anywhere but this turned out to be a good choice and the place felt much less touristy than some of the other options in the same area. It's got two floors with an outdoor wrap around balcony section on the upper floor. Spacious seating, nicely decorated in classic fashion with musical instruments and rock'n roll memorabilia etc. Second floor much brighter with more natural light. We had a burger and fried chicken sliders - both quite good and tasty. Price ok but with drinks came to 50 euros for two before tip (yes they like tips here too but at much lower amounts than in the US starting from 5%). read more

Must visit location again. All locations have rock-star memorabilia and it's cool. This one has a guitar made out of rock and metal remains of the Berlin Wall. Of course, there is the Trebant car used by U2 in Achtung Babyin 1991, and there are only 5 in the world! So, on top of the cool memorabilia, you have a piece of history. Obviously, if you are in Berlin, there are a thousand other more authentic places to eat than the Hard Rock Cafe. My friend and I were staying just around the corner and had gotten in late in the afternoon. Hard Rock was a choice based on convenience. I ordered a local favorite, a curry-wurst sausage sandwich. I had never eaten curry-wurst before and was unsure of what to expect. The sandwich was delectable, but just too much to eat in one sitting. It's Hard Rock, so you know before walking in that your meal will be pricey. As I said, there are more authentic places to eat, but Hard Rock offers a fair share of local cuisine. For someone who is used to restaurants accepting card payments, it was very hard to find a place in Germany that would be willing to take anything but cash. So what is one to do? Go to an American chain restaurant that surely takes card. And for dinner, it was either this or fast food. I don't actually think I've dined at any Hard Rock Cafe before, so I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of standards. I didn't find it to be so touristy, just a regular business in a touristy district. After seating myself at the downstairs bar, I ordered a drink and asked the bartender what burger was best and ordered his recommendation. Both bartenders on shift were really nice. The food, however, was ordinary. Not the place to go if you want a good, authentic American-style burger. But the bar service was what made the visit okay, so maybe the Hard Rock would be the place to go for a couple of kick back drinks. read more

I've been to this location multiple times. The food is good, they're getting four stars for slow service. The waiters are very nice but it takes what seems "forever" for the food to come out or for them to bring the check. Other than that, I like this place. The upstairs has a large seating area for dining. Traditional Hard Rock Cafe memorabilia dresses their walls. I particularly liked the guitar made out of the Berlin Wall. That's original. The whole cafe is really nice design. When I first walked in, it really gave me the wow. There are different things hanging on the wall, things that related to some classic artists, musicians and so on. Very stylish, cultural and interesting. it also got a really good atmosphere, it's really a nice place to hang around. The food I found it tasted good, especially meats here. The Burgers here for me personally, I think is not bad, but it could be better. Salads are also great! Ribs and beaf steaks are something you should try when you are here. They tasted fantastic! Also love the cocktails here. Their deserts are also good, I tried couple of them. I think if you like sweet, that's something you can't miss here. Personally, I like the Oreo cheesecake. It's kinda pricy here though. The service is really nice, very friendly, If you have troubles with your German, you can simply just speak with them in English. There are two floors of the cafe. At the second floor you can take the seat at the baloney and enjoy the great view of Kurfürstendamm. It also seem to be great place for parties. Next to the entrance/exit, you can find their very own shop, selling stuff from badges to T-shirts of their own brand. When you have time, don't don't forget to check it out, maybe you will find something cool as a souvenir to take back home. read more

This is a some what jokey review of the place, so don't take it seriously. I know one of the worker there and I made a joke while being served that the "service was horrible", and that I would give a bad yelp review, here I am. Also they don't use caged chicken eggs, pretty sure nearly no one gets specifically "caged" chicken eggs. As a honest opinion though, this place is great, great food, great sauce, just a good place overall. read more

Genuine American feeling is most definitely here. From the ridiculously overpriced hamburgers, the highly visible placement of Heinz and Coca-Cola products, to the fact they TAKE CREDIT CARDS and even let you pay in US currency - you'll feel right at home. I had a bacon cheese burger and it was really, really good. Perfectly medium rare and succulently dripping with goodness - served, as it should be, with crisp lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, and an onion ring - I could have been in Texas. Except it was better because I had it with German beer on tap! Heaven! WIth my hamburger cravings nicely sated I traipsed across the street to the Apple Store and my "in America" feeling continued. Great for parties, and warming up for a long going out night. The staff are all english speaking, and very friendly and service oriented...not exactly a given thing here in Berlin. The burgers could take a bit more sauce, but the meat is very tasty. The big surprise are the deserts here...Do not miss trying the cakes here....some have a weird salty taste in them, but they still taste amazing.....some of the best tasting cakes of my life. It had cheese obviously put on long after the burger was cooked. It wasn't melted. The onion ring was good but a little flaccid and the bacon was delicious. The fries were inedible. We were not excited about the menu, and the place is crowded, and kind of shabby. Was never a fan in the US, always seemed so kitsch. When we moved to Germany, there weren't tons of options for American food so we decided to try it out. This restaurant is much more laid back and chill and modern than the ones I had seen in the States. I got the ribs (and have every other time we have gone since) and they were actually really good. This is the first, and only so far, place I have found in Germany to get good American ribs. My wife ordered the fried shrimp, and they were great too! Everything we have tried since has been great, and you can tell the food is made fresh and not all just frozen (save maybe the fries). You can also get plain American style iced tea here (and free refills on all sodas and iced teas!) which is one of only two places in the country I have seen it at. Love this place! Also, people, tip your waiters here in Germany. They make more than in the US, but it is not that want. Hate hearing stories of Americans, and others, stiffing them. 10% is a good figure if the service isn't bad. read more

It can get very busy here and you can end up waiting for a table for some time. I chose to take a seat outside and eat as I was in a bit of hurry but it was ok being outside. Too expensive for Berlin. Usually Hard Rock is very vibrant and cool. This cafe is very boring, kind of slow, not really good service. The floor upstairs looks more like a inside pool than a real Hard Rock Cafe. The cafe is a little loud, specially when nobody is there. You walk in and there is nobody at the front, so it looks like you are in a dinner. Recommended only if you are in the hood, it's rainny and you are missing some good music and american food!!!! I have only good things to say about this place. The food is delicious, I tried a variety of products and each one better than the other. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and super professional. The space is beautiful, with a fantastic balcony overlooking the avenue and always with good music playing. The only thing that I didn't think is very fair are the prices, is a little bit expensive. I advise everyone to visit the Hard Rock Cafe Berlin. read more

Im a sucker for the Hard Rock... this was the best one yet! It is so beautiful and so convenient to get to and they couldn't have picked a better location. Besides the mouth-watering food and fun cocktails the views were spectacular from the balcony. Great food, great drinks in the Berlin Hard Rock Cafe! (And great t-shirts!) The kids get their meal in a dish shaped like a guitar, which everyone at the table loved. I had a fajita which was simply mouth-watering fun, just like being back home in New York! We had to wait even with a reservation, but it does seem to help to have one. The decor isn't what it used to be. There are just a few guitars and costumes hanging on the walls. I didn't notice any other instruments. (Maybe cause no one plays instruments anymore?? JK) But you still get lots of loud videos playing in the background--if you don't like what's playing, that's your problem! read more

As with all Hard Rock Cafes, high marks for the memorabilia, low marks for the food. I was pretty impressed with the Trabant they had inside the restaurant. To be honest, I didn't eat here so I can't really speak to the food quality. I've had enough overpriced, under-quality Hard Rock Cafe meals to know better. I just come in to see the memorabilia and buy the souvenirs. I've now officially stopped buying the souvenirs as well because they've gone well beyond the tipping point price-wise. It's not like anyone gets excited about the Hard Rock Cafe or their T-Shirts anymore anyway so why would I pay that kind of money for something that hardly anyone cares about? I really wanted a refrigerator magnet. I bought one in Chicago about five years ago and I wanted one from Germany but I'm not going to pay more than $15 for it. I was annoyed to pay $10 in Chicago. Anyway, if you like their food and don't mind the prices, keep on keepin' on. I'm not even going to go out of my way to see the memorabilia anymore. read more

Well, it's a chain. But when you are traveling abroad you can count on: air conditioning(not available in every restaurant), ice in your drinks( rare, even at McDonalds), and English speakers. Also....good ole American food. read more

The decor is nothing special and not on the same level as Hard Rock Cafe's in other cities. The whole ambiance is more regular restaurant, cafe and not Hard Rock Cafe at all.
