On 7/1/2026, my father's scheduled appointment at Sentara BelleHarbour Family Medicine was cancelled via voicemail 15 minutes before the appointment time. At that point, we were already at the facility. Issues: Late Cancellation : The cancellation was communicated by phone message rather than advance notification, providing no time to adjust plans. Inconsistent Cancellation Policy : Patients are charged a penalty fee for same day appointment cancellations. The clinic cancelled with no compensation, alternative offered. Our re schedule is 2 months from date was cancelled. Unprofessional Response : We received NO APPOLOGY from the nurse/MA, either in the voicemail or in person. The interaction lacked accountability. Significant Scheduling Impact : As a result of this cancellation, my father's next available appointment was rescheduled two months later, requiring ADDITIONAL time off work. Dr. Karen Krajewski, Ms. Leslie, and Ms. Paola are a dynamic team and the best medical team I have found in Hampton Roads. After more than 20 years of TRICARE and the Hampton VA Hospital/Dental Clinic...WHEW!!! This is the best medical staff I have found after retiring from the Air Force. This team doesn't rush patients, proactive and responsive. My visits are always pleasant. My Mom heard of this office from a retired Registered Nurse. Ever since I can remember when I moved down here from Brooklyn NY I have been coming to this establishment because it's conveniently located by my house but more importantly the drs are wonderful!. They take time out to answer your questions and concerns (if you have any) and also gives you important recommendations regarding your health. No personal service here. It is a Big Box mentality...cram as many patients in a day as possible. When cking in you get handed a tablet to confirm your information. It is dirty. They do not wipe them down between patients!! Even Walmart gives the ability to wipe down your cart. When I asked about it the woman was taken aback and offered my a stylus to fill it out with....completely missing the point that the tablet itself was dirty and she was still handing it to me to hold while using this stylus...which, by the way, came out of a pencil holder...not wiped between uses either. Terribly unsanitary...and this is a Doc office where sick people come into. Simply unsatisfactory. If you are more than 15 minutes late (and even call them to let them know) your appt is cancelled. But if you come on time, you go back in a room and ALWAYS wait more than 20 minutes past your appt before the doc makes their appearance. Once you do get the Doc in the room, they are rushed and have not taken the time to familiarize themselves with you and what your issues are. read more

My experience here has gone from not-so-great to terrible. I have now been waiting for 7 days for a culture I was told would have results in 48 hours. I have now been waiting 5 days for an ultrasound report that I was told would also take 24-48 hours. I cannot get anyone beyond reception on the phone. If there is nothing there, it would still be nice to have confirmation so we can look elsewhere, seeing that my symptoms have not resolved after 9 days on antibiotics, etc. Even after emailing the patient advocate, all I got was a response stating it would be forwarded to the patient advocate, and 4 days later, I ve still heard nothing. Of 3 messages left, one call has been returned, and that phone call also resulted in more frustration as I expressed repeatedly what tests I was comfortable with, and different ones were still ordered. If you re looking for a practice in which you can be an active participant in your care and healing, I would look elsewhere. read more
