Outstanding service!…read more I stopped in town for a few days for business and my remote control locks shit the bed on me, looked at every electronic/ hardware/ walmart store in town. I walked into this place, asked where there batteries were. 2 ladies dropped what they were doing and told me exactly where to go. Then, there it was glistening in the bright lights the elusive MN27 Duracell!!

I have been doing business here for years. Untill last year I would have probably rated them 3 or 4…read morestars. They are helpful and friendly enough if not quite as knowledgable as you would sometimes hope, but then I had always bought my items, used them and never went back with any kind of a problem. Last spring it was time to quit nursing that 2nd hand tiny string trimmer I had for the previous 20 yrs and bought one from Ace. It was a nice large Toro and the price was right. I used it to trim the edges on my modest yard and after the third mowing I noticed the spool was stuck down and extremely hard to move because of dust and dirt accumulating inside (it appeared). It IS dusty here. Just to be sure, instead of fighting with it, I took it back to the store and let the helpful floor man look at it. He said no problem and laid it on the bench upside down with spool up and motor down then sprayed it liberally with some type of lube. It washed out the dirt and freed up the spool to pop up and down and feed line. I went home and promptly got back to work. Within 5 minutes however the unit started running slower and slower with no load on it. I decided to just finish what I was on and take it back so they could have another look but within a few seconds it wound to almost stopped and started blowing black smoke. I took it back and went to the same man who had helped me and told him what it did and even though I thought I knew the problem I avoided jumping to any conclusions on my part. I just told him what it did. He asked what did I do to it? I took it home from here and whacked weeds. It slowed then burned up in less than 5 minutes. He said, "I don't know what to tell you". I suggested the oil he sprayed maybe ran down in to the motor. He told me that cant hurt it. Which is nonsense. But then another employee listening in stepped up and said that it just must be worn out. I said it was brand new. (It was shiny out of the box brand new) I said I hadn't used up the small sample of string that came already on it. The first salesman said "the lube is made of the same stuff as the motor brushes" OK so you wont help me with this.. correct. They had stopped making sense let alone trying to be helpful. I'm sorry but that is 1 star service, when the time came that I really needed it.
