We highly recommend Happy Younglings. Our oldest attended from about 14 months old to 3.5 years old and our youngest from 5 months old to 3 years old. We considered many childcare options from nannies to corporate centers to other in-home daycares and feel so blessed that we found Happy Younglings. We have been so impressed with how the owner, Tania, and her two assistants provide such a loving, kind, happy environment for the children in their care while also ensuring structure and appropriate play-based learning. The children eat healthy, delicious food (including breakfast, lunch, and snack) and play in a large playroom and outside in the home's enormous backyard. Inside, they play music, dance, do puzzles, paint, read books, play with trains, legos and other building tools, and engage in plenty of free play. Outside, they play on a playground appropriate for a wide age range, chase bubbles, play soccer, push toy lawn mowers, and study worms and leaves. The children learn all sorts of important social skills, including how to share and work out disagreements with their peers, politeness, gentleness with babies, following directions, and sitting with peers to eat. Tania has a tremendous amount of experience to help with the various things that can be tricky with daycare. She works with parents to help breastfed babies accept bottles, to help kids nap on a schedule, to work through periods of separation anxiety, and to help kids learn toileting. She recognizes that kids develop at different paces and she is receptive to parent requests and feedback. She is organized and makes daycare as easy on the parents as possible by announcing holidays and vacation time at the beginning of the year, rarely closing for weather (even when local schools are closed), and providing daily written reports for each child. She often sends photos taken during the day, especially on days when a child cries at drop off. Although both of our children went through brief periods of separation anxiety, the vast majority of the time they bounced down the stairs, eager to see their friends, Tania, and her assistants. At times it was difficult to get them to leave! And even though they have now both left for preschool, they still love going back for visits. Our younger son has attended Happy Younglings since he was about 6 months old. He's now 2 1/2 years and we love the owner, Tania, and her two assistants. The daycare is run out her beautiful home. The downstairs area is as spacious and inviting as any commercial daycare. It's filled with educational and sensory activities, from books and blocks to music and play items, such as a kitchen set. With items like these, kids are able to learn basic life skills that they see at home, such as sweeping or vacuuming in addition to learning ABC's. Tania also has gymnastic style play mats that she will occasionally lay out for the kids inside and she has a large backyard that accommodates a play set, small riding vehicles, chalk boards, water tables, etc. In nice weather, the kids will even have a picnic lunch outside. What I enjoyed most about Happy Younglings is that our son was in daycare with children who were both younger and older than him. This is different from a commercial daycare where all children in the classroom are the same age. Exposing our son to different ages allowed him to socialize and learn to play with a variety of children at different developmental stages. Tania and her staff also work with you to transition from bottle, to solids, to sippy cups. They also help with potty training, when the time comes. Tania is knowledgeable about different developmental stages and is always available to talk with you if you have questions/concerns about your child and can provide a few ideas to help you navigate through it all. Happy Younglings is one of the best home based daycares in our area. Our son has been there since he was 18 months and we cannot be happier. We checked out many daycares and we noticed that all daycares have two sides - the administration and the actual childcare - and this daycare excels in both. As for the childcare, they are really focused on developing the complete child and help each child build life skills, social skills, and academic skills. They do a wonderful job of helping each child usher in their milestones at their own rate and on their own timetable with immense love and patience. The owner Tania and her wonderful assistants treat our son (and the others in their care) with more love and encouragement than we could ask for. They are calm, loving and patient with all his needs and asks. As for the administration, they have a great facility, are really well organized and very flexible to help parents as much as possible. They keep their daycare very bright and clean and stocked with all the best/latest toys and learning tools for the kiddos. They are diligent in setting their holiday calendar over a year in advance, they send reminders on all payments, they send weekly menus on Monday am and they send daily sheets on what your child did that day. I can't say enough amazing things about Tania and Happy Younglings. When our first son was born I wasn't necessarily looking for an in-home daycare option, but Tania had great reviews so we set up a visit. Her home is always impeccably clean and her family and team are incredible. They have a giant and beautiful backyard and value outdoor time for the kids, which was one of the first things that drew us to HY. Tania and her staff treat the children as their own. Tania cooks amazing meals and runs a tight ship, while still remaining loving and flexible. They did wonders to get the kids on a schedule and our boys have far excelled next to their similarly-aged peers in learning their ABCs, colors, how to engage with other children, and manners. Our first son went through a very stubborn bottle rejection after I returned to work, and they were incredibly supportive and helped him through it. You can tell how much her alumni children and families love them, as they sometimes return to simply say hi and play at pickup time, and many participate in the annual Christmas party years after departing. She always has toys for every child, which is incredibly thoughtful. One review simply isn't enough. Tania and her team have been caring for my older son since he was 9 months old (he's now almost 4) and now his younger brother (just over a year old) has since joined him. I can't imagine a more caring, nurturing, and safe environment for young babies and children. Tania and her staff truly care for your children like they are family. The kids have access to tons of toys and games, music time, art, and more. It is a home setting, which I had been seeking out over a huge daycare center, and it is always immaculately cleaned. They have access to an enormous backyard and parents are often sent photos of them enjoying the playground and water toys! They also provide healthy, home cooked meals, which is a huge benefit and time saver. Tania was also very supportive when my son potty trained, and so he picked up on it super quickly. She will also work with you on your child's sleep schedule which was so helpful for our family. My older son also has quite an extensive vocabulary and can even solve jigsaw puzzles on his own, which I credit to his time here! We are deeply grateful for the love, care, and guidance Tania and her assistants Ghazaleh and Farideh have given our two children in this in-home daycare. Both our son and our daughter have attended Happy Younglings from when they were three months old to three years old. We could not have asked for a more nurturing and loving environment for them to grow in. They were given healthy breakfast, lunch, and snacks every day. The home is incredibly clean and safe. The children learn several age-appropriate skills through infancy to toddlerhood and to get them ready for preschool. There is a wonderful indoor play area and a large backyard with a swingset and sandbox under the shade of trees. The children have plenty of time to play outside on good weather days. Communication with Tania was always clear and timely so that we always knew our children were safe, healthy, and happy.
