Got to see the wine cellar which was an experience. Rooms are good, but not palace-like. Very comfortable beds and clean. During summertime you can borrow a little boat and go for swims in the lake. They also have their own jetty with an outdoor hot tub. The spa inside was very relaxing with a small but nice gym area. Overall great game lace for a romantic weekend outing.

The only frustrating thing about Görvälns Slott has to do with their sometimes haphazard hours. One day we walked the 40 minutes through the forest to find that they were not serving anyone but their guests bc they were short-staffed, despite proclaiming on their website that they were now open until 10:30pm, in line w/ the newly relaxed COVID restrictions. Today, we rowed a boat over in the beautiful, warm summer day only to be told that only guests with dinner reservations were able to have a glass of wine on their immense/predominantly empty patio. Such a bummer! Apparently, this is only a Sunday policy(?). There was a fika station out on the terrace selling coffee/tea/refreshments/chokladbollar, etc. Since the opening/serving/drinking rules seem to shift with the tide, I'd recommend calling in advance to verify whether you can be served. With such a wonderful terrace, it's a shame not to be able to casually drop by and grab a drink. The restaurant serves amazing food, btw. I love this place.
