The massage itself was enough pressure without pain. After having a Thai massage a few months ago that had my neck in pain for weeks , the perfect amount of pressure was provided . While there, I discovered a true talent at A Time 4 U. A friend gave me the gift of an appointment with Pat. I went in with the general expectation of a basic massage, but Pat is so much more. (Not in a dirty way! Get your mind outta the gutter, people.) Pat truly has a been blessed with healing hands. During the first appointment, Pat came in and laid her hands on my lower back. Without any knowledge of my medical history, she asked me, "How long has your back been hurting?" What? She could tell I had chronic back pain just by touching my back? The most amazing part is - she fixed it. Gently. Not with force like a chiropractor or by mashing me to death like a masseuse. With patience and gentle pressure she would slowly get my back, my hips, my shoulders and my neck all back in line like they're supposed to be. I'll tell you what - when I stood up after that first appointment, I felt like dancing! I had no pain - NONE! I've had chronic back pain that varies from a mild pressure to full blown can't-walk-so-you-just-lay-in-the-bed-and-cry pain for over 10 years now. That moment, after my 1st appointmet, was the first time in a very long time that I felt, well...normal. Pat, I still hope you'll consider moving to Austin someday. However, since Makayla's studio is located in the same building as the chiropractor I had been seeing I made a 30 minute appointment for a neck & shoulder massage out of curiosity and suggestion by my Chiropractor. Many sessions later I have discovered that the 90 minute full body massages have had amazingly good results with my age related lack of flexibility, and neuropathic issues with my arms, legs and feet. Makayla is one of the most sincere, attentive care givers I have had the privilege of being a recipient of her services.
