NORDSTROM RACK From…read morethe scattered reviews I read, I decided to stop at Nordstrom Rack. I was only three miles from their Brandon store and in need of a few men's shirts and dress pants. I was aware that Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of the luxury department store chain, Nordstrom. I went there not expecting Walmart or other merchants prices. I found the men's shirts and pants racks and found several items that were the color and size I was looking for. A shirt that listed at $198.98 was on sale reduced 68% to a mere $74.96. It was a regular long sleeve shirt by Polo, Ralph Lauren. With all due respect to India where the shirt was made, I wondered what costly threads were used to make such a pricey shirt. The same was true of the pants and several other items. Mind you that these items in the off price store were on yet another discounted clearance rack in the store. Nordstrom may want to rethink their sales techniques at their chain of stores before people start realizing it's not a really an off price store.

The young lady who helped me watched me walk to help figure out what type of shoe (neutral, support etc.) would work best for my feet. She brought out pairs of sneakers and explained what they did and why she picked them. To help get a better feel to the shoe I was able to walk outside the shop to test the shoes. That helped me tell differences between each shoe and helped me pick a shoe. I went with a pair of ASICS. Just a heads up they are a bit more pricey than the retail value of the sneakers. But painful arches while jogging prompted me to seek immediate help from this little shop. The store sits behind Bloomingdale library. I came in and was greeted by a cheerful and helpful clerk. I explained that I was there to buy a particular brand of inserts. But since I wasn't sure of the type, the clerk suggested that I have my feet scanned and she would recommend inserts based on the results. I ended up buying two pair of the inserts she recommended. I LOVE them! It all took about 15 minutes. While I was there, I sneaked a peek at the prices on the running shoes and looked around to see what other inventory they have. The shop is very well stocked with better running shoe brands including on cloud, brooks, and new balance. AND they were no more expensive than what I pay online. So my experience was all together pleasant. As somebody desperate to try to get away from Amazon being my primary retailer, I am definitely going to come to this shop for my next pair of shoes and whatever other running accoutrements I need.
