I had been using Winnipeg Supply for my heating and cooling needs for 14 years…read more Yes I knew that they were expensive, but I thought that I was generally getting good value for the money. The techs for the most part were courteous and the office staff (which used to be based out of the US) were very efficient and always called me to remind me about my upcoming service, and to tell me if the techs were going to be on time etc. I noticed that things started to slowly change over the years. When I was sold my high efficiency Lennox I was told that the filters only needed to be changed yearly. They are the very large 16 X 25 X 5 type which are also quite expensive. Over the years they changed their tune telling me that they needed to be changed every 6 months. I do not believe this to be true. On March 30th 2014 tech # 1146 visited my home to do my annual AC tune up. He went on to tell me how the refrigerant in my AC is illegal and that I should change out my 11 year old unit ASAP. He kept insisting that the unit was old and I would be lucky if it made it another month. I bit my tongue and thought well it is just my AC if it goes out, it goes out I will deal with it when it conks out. My unit ran flawlessly that Summer, and the next spring when I had my usual tech out #2020, he did not say a thing regarding my AC and it's condition after servicing it. Strange because last Spring it was about to die according to the other tech. The spring after that my usual tech 2020 advised that fan motor was going and that I should replace the unit immediately. He said a fan replacement would be over $1,500.00 and that it would not be money well spent. I looked on line and the price of a fan for my particular unit is about $350.00. Installation is about 30 min or less (I watched a youtube video on how to do it) so I have no idea how this could come to $1,500.00. Again I did not listen to him or the sales person that he arranged to immediately come out. Stephen came out that spring and gave me pricing for a new AC. $4,500, $5,000, or top of the line for $5,900 all prices plus tax. These prices were quite high with other smaller companies charging around $3,000.00. I also wonder why anyone would want to purchase a top of the line unit (high efficiency) as according to MB Hydro the difference in your electricity bill would only be about $20.00 year. You would never see a pay off on that investment. Stephen failed to mention that to me. Well now it is fall November 2017, 4 entire hot sticky Winnipeg Summers have passed, and guess what. My AC is still working. I have decided to move on from Winnipeg Supply "The service experts". When my AC needs to be replaced I will have someone else do it.

You may need just a repair but they will try and convince you to buy a new furnace etc. It happened to me and it was a nightmare. The furnace and AC we bought did not work well enough to heat or cool our house. We finally had it removed and got our money back after a long and arduous battle. No one from management will ever call you back and emails are ignored.

Unfortunately we had a furnace and air conditioning system installed by this company…read more Would not recommend them to anyone!!! When our furnace was installed and inspected it didn't pass the inspection because it was installed backwards and when they came out to repair the issue instead of replacing the unit or at least the furnace shell (remember this is a new system in the $10,000 range) all they would do was flip it and put a big patch on the side Second problem was unit would not start properly because of faulty pressure switch assembly that should have been replaced under warranty but they still demanded a diagnostic fee to simply count how many blinks the fault indicator had Customer service sucks and will be taking my annual inspection service elsewhere

Ido came in Aug 26 diagnosed as my living room has too small vents and thermostat located in the wrong location. Come on, they have sale representitive came to check the house and he also came to my house couple of times to fix it or adjust it and never mention this problem. Now it's all the house's fault. Ridiculous! Aug 31 afternoon, Penguin customer service called me said my comments is not good to the company and let me remove my comments. And if I don't do so they will take the 10 years warranty away! This is the way they fix the problem and provide customer service! Tell everyone stay away from this company!

Told Mona I spoke with a Bosch technician and he mentioned possible mother board and she said she would send one out if in stock or she would order one immediately. First snowfall of the year with delays in traffic and terrible road conditions Zack showed up 630 in the evening. Honestly we thought we would just get the phone call saying "sorry ran late need to reschedule". But no there he was. Great first impression and great service. Told me about possible scenarios why we had lost power. Found the issue and said he would order parts and get them as soon as possible. Nice to see pride and sincerity is still around us in this day and age. I would recommend them to everyone.

A passive aggressive experience not to be repeated…read more.. We had a tradesman come to our home to check out a faulty dryer. The company was supposed to call in advance to provide a more specific arrival time. There was no call, the worker (Norm) simply showed up at the door. He said he must have had the wrong phone number (could have been an honest mistake, but the rest of the experience makes me think otherwise). The tradesman checks out our dryer, and tells us the motor is done. We thought that might be the case, so we accepted that assessment. He said he could get us a replacement motor for $200 (not worth it). Then tried to upsell us on replacing our boiler. Said "even if you don't go with us, look into the Hydro incentive programs". Potentially sound advice. I go downstairs after he leaves to discover that there are new 8x10 sized NORIS company stickers applied (without permission) to our hot water & expansion tanks. The sticker on our hot water tank was strategically placed over the installing company's label (which included specifics about the appliance's installation date). The adhesive backings were discarded in our mop bucket in the laundry room (not in the garbage). Then I discover that the worker used our bathroom (without permission), left the seat up, and there was urine on the exterior of the bowl. Clearly he knew we had a garbage, but left the label remnants in the laundry room next door. He may have urinated, but I am pissed. We will never welcome NORIS into our home again.
