The breeder, Clint Little, of Happy Bend Kennels doesn't allow you to see the parents or visit his kennel. The breeder always has puppies available that he sells for $2000 + as designer mixes. These are the top red flags of a bad breeder, but let me continue with my personal story: My husband & I were looking for a puppy to fit both of our needs, mine being that it had to be hypoallergenic (already limited there) & that we wanted the puppy to become a service dog (only certain breeds there too). So no going to the shelter to adopt a puppy. My husband is a disabled veteran (who is unable to work) & would greatly benefit from a service dog. We researched a lot of breeds, particularly the Native American Indian Dog. We chose Happy Bend Kennels as he is only an hour away from us. He said he'd give a discount on the account of the puppy being much older, the last one left from her litter, & for my husband being military. This never happened. We notarized a contract saying we would pay $1500, but on the breeder's way to see us he comes up with us having to pay $150 in taxes, & we desperately wanted her, so we ended up paying $1650 for a puppy that was already 15 weeks of age instead of a the normal 8-10 weeks (no discount there either). Unfortunately, 12 days after purchasing the puppy, we received devastating news that my husband was going to go under intense treatment at the VA that might require an eventual surgery & over night stays at the hospital. Knowing he would not be home enough or physically able to give our fur-baby the attention that she needs, & I work 8-10 hours a day, frequently go out of town overnight, so the heartbreaking decision was made to call the breeder. The breeder took full advantage of our unexpected crisis with my husband's health problems, took our $1650 puppy, all her belongings that we had bought her, including a $100 bed, lots of toys, treats, & vitamins & gave us a lowly $200 that doesn't even cover part of her belongings. He promised to return as much of the money as he could, of course, that never happened. Even his full grown 4-5 year old adult dogs that can't produce puppies for him anymore, he sells for $300 +. We are not only heartbroken over our loss of our puppy as we wanted for her to be a part of our family & a lifetime companion, but now we are having to endure the my husband's demanding treatments at the VA. We've had to deal with the fact we just unwilling donated $2000 for someone else to have a puppy & all her stuff (as Clint posted on YouTube that she will be re-homed to Colorado). I didn't realize my husband & I were running a charity, paying for expensive puppies for other people to have. Clint, taking money from a disabled Army veteran & his family while they are going through a difficult time is disguising and dishonorable. Thank you for adding to that difficult time & making it so much worse, Clint. He sells these dogs is just like any breeder, only in it for the money, has absolutely no conscious as he's willing to rip money off a disabled veteran who can not work because of his injuries fighting for our country by deploying to war twice. Being that he has 2-3 litters of puppies at a time, averaging 7-9 puppies each, & selling them for $2000 + (depending on where he is delivering them to), he certainly has the money to reimburse us especially after we only had the puppy for 12 days. He refused to return our phone calls and has ignored my email, pleading for him to reimburse us our rightfully owed money since we no longer have the puppy. When I was finally able to get on the phone with him, I was in tears at the loss of our puppy and (yes even the money). He had no empathy what-so-ever & said he would never sell in Arkansas again after this experience, ironic since that is where his kennel is. He had the nerve to tell me, in between my tears that, I don't need the money as I have a nicer car than him (a 5 year used car with 60k miles that cost $25k.) By the way, he drives a 'puppy express' Delivery Vehicle that is a huge 4x4 Truck with a 14ft trailer to deliver his furry money makers since he doesn't want anyone seeing his kennel. Selling his mixed bred puppies at $2k+ each, the man is not hurting on money. Please beware to all those who are considering purchasing a puppy from this greedy man. He may breed beautiful dogs, but he has an ugly greedy soul. read more

He takes so much care into raising his dogs and delivering them across the country instead of just shipping them on a plane. We got our first puppy at 8 weeks old, 3 weeks later we were already back for more! We ended up with two puppies from the same litter and couldn't be happier. I have owned many dogs in my life and can be very picking in choosing a breeder. I always want to make sure I am working with someone that cares about the animals as much as I do and has a great understanding of their needs. Clint is exactly that and much, much more. He blew me away with his knowledge. He was able to answer all of my and my wife's questions as well as educate us on the particular needs of the German Indian Dog. He took extensive time on the phone with me multiple times to talk about everything that was involved. We are happy to say that our boy Guinness (Stormy X Yesenia litter) is just about 6 months old now and is amazing! He is so well behaved and loves to run around and play with his Boxer brother Rambo! My family and I have been looking for a family dog for SEVEN years. My youngest daughter has allergies, and we just did not like any of the other hypoallergenic breeds, and did not get a good vibe from many of the breeders we talked with. Many of the other breeders seemed more concerned with taking our deposit, than answering questions or providing information about their dogs. We almost accepted the fact that having a dog was not in our future, until we found Clint Little and Happy Bend Kennel. After visiting his website, reading all of the helpful information, watching the videos, and seeing all of his beautiful pups, we were quite interested in finding out more about the German Indian Dog. After calling Clint, we knew we had found the place were we would purchase our pup. We could tell how passionate he was about this breed, and knew that this was not just another breeder who cared more about the money than the puppies. When we decided on our pup, Clint was available day and night to answer any questions we had. He posted numerous pictures and videos of our pup, and we could see that our pup was loved and happy. I was ecstatic to discover that he drives the pups to you himself, which shows he truly cares about the well being of these dogs. Fast forward to the day we received our pup.....Clint provided us with all of the paperwork, and answered any questions we still had. I even had a question a week later, and Clint was still available to provide helpful information day or night. Our Happy Bend pup is from the Yesenia X Thunder litter, and we named him Kona. He is the most uniquely beautiful, happy, loving, healthiest, smartest pup I have ever met (which seems to be the breed standard with all of Clint's pups!). My daughter, I am happy to report, has not had any sort of allergy reaction to Kona, and she loves him to pieces. We followed Clint's advice on potty training (which is listed on the website) and our pup was potty trained in 2 DAYS!!!.... Well, fast forward to a year later, and Kona is the smartest, gentlest dog ever. I talk to Clint every couple of months just to check in and ask any questions I have....and Clint is always there to help even a YEAR LATER!!!....which says a ton about his character and the type of breeder he is. The other review about him being a greedy breeder without a soul is absolutely absurd. If you could talk to the hundreds of owners who have his pups, you would be able to tell right away that Clint is the nicest, most caring person ever.......there are other breeders here in California, but I chose Clint and Happy Bend for a reason......he actually cares about his pups. The other reviewer complained about not being able to go to the kennel......Do hospitals let you go in and hold random newborn babies?....of course not, and why? BECAUSE OF GERMS & BACTERIA!!!!.....why should he expose his puppies to outside germs?.....I don't need to see his kennel, his videos are enough for me to see the environment they are in......these pups live in paradise, and are treated like they are his babies. We feel truly blessed to have found Clint and Happy Bend Kennel. I will never buy from anyone other than Clint Little at Happy Bend Kennel, nor will I buy any other breed than the German Indian Dog. Clint Little and his family are by far the best breeder/owners I have ever purchased a dog from. This is my third dog that I have owned personally. He understands the importance of finding the right home for his puppies, therefore, he was also very thorough in explaining everything to me about what would make our new addition to our family the happiest well-adjusted puppy that she could be. When picking up our new puppy (which he hand delivered to us for a minimal fee that actually is cheaper than driving to pick a puppy up ourselves or flying a puppy to us would be) he stayed with us for over an hour as the puppy got adjusted to my husband and I. By following all of his instructions, our girl is so happy and I could not have asked for a better dog. Clint is also always available for any questions we had even months after picking her up. We got our girl, Makena, at 9 weeks old. She is now almost 6 months. She is so smart and has so much personality. My husband is allergic to dogs and has had zero allergic reactions to her. He had never owned a dog before, or even desired to own one, and he absolutely adores her. We love our Happy Bend Kennel puppy and can't imagine life without her now. The price we paid for her is average for what any breeder these days sell their dogs for which is absolutely necessary since he goes above and beyond to care for them before they reach the owner. Clint Little has the best NAID by far. He actually hand delivers the puppies to your house and spends time with the new owner and puppy to ensure the puppy will have a good home. Many of the puppies from Happy Bend Kennel go on to be service dogs. Out of all the positive reviews I have read, there was one bad review and it upsets me that someone not being able to keep a puppy due to their disabled husband health reasons and her knowingly working hours where she could not care for the puppy. I have had nothing but great support from Clint and have never heard anything but praises about him and his puppies. People sometimes blames others for their poor judgement.
