It's a hike with a lot of gain that never gets technical (you won't have to use your hands) nor exposed (there aren't big drops to be mindful of). Word of warning about doing it in the summer: the first mile of this trail is in pretty thick brush. BE BEAR AWARE. Make LOUD NOISES. Once you get out of the brush you're probably fine, but the brush is mighty sketchy. There are also a decent amount of bears in the area. I've seen grizzlies from the summit of Wolverine.

You can hike mountains, multiple trails, hooks onto power line pass for biking, carve your name on a bridge, etc... I live 10 minutes from here and try to come here at least once a week. Views are incredible and the trails can go from easy to moderate. It's a great park.

This park is located in Anchorage's Mountainview Neighborhood, just outside of downtown. The park…read morewas originally developed as military housing in the 1940's. The park as you see it today was developed in the 1980s. It spans 66 acres and is leased from the Joint Base Elemendorf-Richardson by the municipality of Anchorage. It is a decent park, but pales slightly in comparison to the park that is located right next to it. It has a couple of parking areas, with ample parking. But beware, one of the parking areas near the basketball court has some huge pot holes. The park also has a 9-hole disc golf course that is pretty decent. You will find a good multi-use field here that has football uprights and can be used for a variety of activities including soccer, football, playing catch, ultimate frisbee, or flying a kite. The little league baseball field there is trashed. There is a bunch of trash in the dugout and the bleachers are busted and turned upside down. However, it could still be used in a pinch. The full basketball court is suffering from the same neglect. The court itself is in decent shape, but the rims are missing nets. You will be chasing the ball all day if you play on that court. You will find a bunch of picnic tables scattered among the park's green space and a decent partially paved/partially natural trail. There is rumored to be a community garden, but I did not see it. That may be due to me visiting in very early Spring. Now let's talk about what the park does not have. It does not have playground equipment, nor does it have a restroom facility. This park is ok and does have a few things its neighboring park does not have such as a multi-use field or disc golf. That park has some features that this one does not have like a playground area and picnic shelters. So, ultimately, they are a good compliment to each other. This park does need some attention and I will give them the benefit of the doubt that it was in the shape that it was in due to being off season.

There are a couple picnic tables, and most of the park is on a mini-hill. Would be a great spot if you lived in the neighborhood. If you don't, well, there are definitely better spots. Anchorage has so many great parks it can be hard for some of the tinier ones to compete!

It's a sloping piece of lawn that starts in downtown and empties out into the Shipcreek area. It's a great place to relax and picnic after a day walking around downtown, especially if the weather is nice. In the winter, you could probably sled down this...not sure if you'd get in trouble or not though. Don't tell 'em I sent ya!

David Green park includes a picnic shelter, lots of tables to sit, and lots of green space. Most of the equipment is on artificial turf. There are a ton of climbing/hanging/and slide options. They have a slide that leads to a sand area but it's completely flooded due to lots of rain fall. Lots of swings --including the "big boy," saucer swing. It's a great lowkey park; highly recommend.

This park has no parking lot- you would have no reason to visit it unless you live in this middle class neighborhood. It is a traditional park with 4 picnic tables and grills, swings and a small playset. I find this a questionable choice for a playground since there is a steep drop-off to the swift Campbell creek on the southside of the park- turn your back on your toddler and their gone downstream. Bring a leash. For older kids, on the other side of the park, there is a shallow area that is idea for wading, but the water is swift, so supervision is definitely recommended.

My pup and I passed this park and were a little surprised it's actually a park given it's size and that it appeared to have little planning involved in sectioning it out. This park has very little surface area to play on, has a pond and creeks around it, and a few amenities. I'm not sure what it looks like in the summer, but in the winter there appears to have a loop one can do that crosses a street, and an offshoot that open up to an area with a hill. It's set among townhouses, suburbs, businesses, and schools and offers a small space for dogs and people to play. I liked the couple of benches and poop bag dispensers in this area. Small respite area in a sea of industrial businesses and small family housing.
