I was first intrigued by the name and didn't remember ever going there... and indeed, this bar opened not so long ago. As soon as I enter I found that the atmosphere was very pleasant. The dim light and the nice decor, with dark tones and a rustically minimalistic feeling had a nice, clear touch to it. This place is all about the cocktails. No doubt that this is a gentleman's bar. All the bartenders are wearing a vest, shirt, slacks combination and are very professional indeed. This place is owned by New York born Bill Fehn, around Munich known for his cocktail mastery. You might recognise him if you have ever been to Bar Reichenbach near Gärtnerplatz, or many places previous to this one. He has this very particular style and an impressive beard. Also him being the man that my trusted friend followed trough so many different establishments. As he is 'one of the best cocktail artist in town'. So I was already sure I would not be disappointed even before ordering. I had several drinks, that are not the usual cocktails that you might find on most menus, but some unique creations that are very tasty indeed! I noticed that Jaded Monkey also serves food. I didn't try it myself, as I was not hungry, but one of my friends at the table did. It looked very appetising. All I can say in the end is this: I highly recommend this place!

The bartender was very helpful with suggestions, and once the bar started to get busier, the owner came and made drinks from the well and served half the bar through the busy, dinner rush. The cocktail list here is extensive and their Negroni is to die for :-) it's probably the best one I have had in Munich to date. The food is also excellent and contains Mediterranean items like hummus, cheese pastry, felafel and few other bits and pieces and we all loved it. They also have a vegetarian aperetivo if you so choose. I would give the food here 5 stars. It's a bar so I don't believe there is much food here besides the small plates. The waiters are very friendly and speak English if you need it. Ask for recommendations and they will gladly make you one. The atmosphere is lovely and it feels like an old NY City bar. I would happily come here again just for the Negroni. I had the classic one and they have five or six other variations of Negroni if you like that sort of thing. It's not too busy early in the evening and I believe it's open pretty late.

The drinks make the bar, though, and for cocktails, they absolutely perfect them. The menu is massive, offering cocktails in many varieties, with dozens of different base liquors. The apotheke, which features punt e mes, fernet, and creme de menthe is one of the best cocktails I have ever tried, and it cooled my mouth and throat with every sip. Other standouts include the american negroni (with bourbon instead of gin), and the bahia, an island inspired drink made with rum, pineapple, and coconut. It tasted like an adult milkshake done right, a true delight. We enjoyed the place so much we came twice in just four days. Bonus points for giving free tap water. Extra bonus points for the small side dishes of pretzels and olives that cone free alongside your drinks. An unprecedented triple bonus points for exceptional service during both visits. Prost!
