Great food, we had the Giselle burger (delicious) and a cheese burger served with sweet potato fries and sauces. Food was fresh, good quality beef and chicken and delicious. We loved the sweet potato fries, crunch n dip. Probably the best burger I've ever eaten. The atmosphere of the restaurant was hip and cool. Servers were friendly and professional. Burgers? Really? I'm in Munich for 3 days and I spend one of those dinners at a burger place? It's not as crazy as it sounds - the place just sucked us in - cool decor, great drinks (loved my Moscow Mule) and a patio table that had just opened up. Destiny called, our stomaches grumbled, so we took a seat. And frankly, it was one of the better burgers I've had. Granted, I'm not a burger fan in general, but if you give me one with fresh bread, high quality meat and creative ingredients - hey, I'm all in. The menu had many, many options and even a few "bun-less" versions. No English translation on the menu, so bring your travel cheat sheet. They have a few chicken/veggie options too, so if you aren't big on beef or pork, you'll still have some choices available. This place is small, and there's not that many patio tables, so reserve in advance if you really want a table with a view. They also seem to do a healthy "drinks after dinner" business. Net is be prepared to wait at peak times if you drop in, but the host did a good job at getting drinks in people's hands as they waited for a table. read more

I visited this place for the first time today. I know they have a few locations in Munich however, never tried one before. I love a good burger and finding them in Munich is always a challenge. I was told this place was great and was quite eager to try. Ok, if you are a vegetarian there is no other place in Munich with a better selection and, that is fantastic. If you love your beef burgers you also have a lot of toppings selection across multiple burgers which is a nice touch. I ordered the Wilder Westen, a burger with roasted onions, BBQ sauce and other bits. I wish now that I had ordered something different because, even though the burger was nice, the roasted onions were actually deep fried onions (crispy) and, I do not like that in a burger. The BBQ sauce was also way too sweet for my liking. It kind of made the overall burger a bit lacking in taste. Having had fabulous burgers across the world, I was kind of hoping for the Texas touch, but afraid, that was not to be so. Drink choices are great, the lunch menu with fries or salad and drink + coffee is a good value for a meal addition. Service is ok and the place was busy. I will come back here and try some of the other burgers just to compare. I must say, I have had better burgers in Munich albeit, more expensive than the burgers here. This was my first visit to a Hans im Glück, which has six other locations round Munich. The ambience and close attention to detail are definite highlights. When you walk in, you feel as though you're entering a forest (mixed with a rustic hipster bar maybe). Tree trunks extend from floor to ceiling throughout and extending into a nice little patio in the back. They also make each table feel a bit intimate, even though the place seems to always be packed. The menus are pretty delightful, done as a sort of picture book with fairy-tale sketches that match the overall decor. Huge props for style. Food: we had the best veggie burger (the Wolpertinger) I've had in my life there (and I've had many veggie burgers!) There's a ton of variety on the menu, especially for vegetarians. The meat burger was also great - good quality beef and again, lots of options for creative toppings, though on par with other places I've been. Friends said it was too small - but for me, it was perfect and not too heavy. Fries, cocktails and dessert were average. There's a good combo deal (~15 euros) for the burger/fries/cocktail, making it all pretty affordable. Service: good, pretty prompt, friendly. Happy to speak English. Yum yum yum! I would come here every day if it wouldn't make me as big as a house! The decor on the inside is very cool - rustic looking almost. The prices are right at lunch time, get their lunch time menu, and its under 12 euro for a buger, your choice of bread, your choice of salad or french fries and a drink! I've never had bad service at this place, and during the day I have yet to have a hard time finding a place to sit. They even have a back patio - albeit, small, but nice. It was fine. I came here with 2 German friends and initially was super-in-love with the atmosphere... We asked for an English menu and they were happy to provide one (this is so helpful when you're German skills are rudimentary). The food was decent quality. Not as good as a state's-side-burger, but overall was fine. Our waitress was pretty unfriendly, though... seemed to be so miserable to be working. I get it - it's a chain, and it's kind of a college job - but perk up and don't seem so depressed. Tip: learn the bavarian words for men and women - otherwise you might enter through the wrong bathroom door and have a very awkward encounter. read more

Ohhh Hans im Glück, you devil you. SIX locations in Munich?! This place is like Starbucks....one on every corner. This is completely justified though because the food is just that good. I usually go to the Schwabing location with my coworkers for lunch, and overall, I always have an enjoybal experience. At least I've never left thinking "ughhh, I'm only going to Burger House for now on!" :) I think the service is at the Munich standard....not overly nice and sometimes a bit rude. That is where I dock my star. There is usually enough space at lunch to easily find a table. However, I tried to go to the Isartor location one evening for dinner with a friend and we had to leave because we didn't have a reservation. Here is the annoying bit though, the restaurant was more than half empty! The empty tables has reservation times ranging from 7pm to 8:30pm.....it wasn't even 6pm at the time. We could have easily eaten our meal way before the people with reservations arrived, but we just nodded our heads and hopped over to that great burger joint in Hauptbahnhof called Burger King hahah. Hans im Glück has this vibe that you're eating outside in the forest. The trees inside make me laugh sometimes when I'm with a larger group, because someone always ends up having to look at you from behind one. The burgers are awesome. period. You have more options to choose from than any other burger place I've been to in Munich, and they're all equally delicious. My last visit I tried one of their vegetarian options, the Heuernte, and it was sooo much better than I thought a vegetarian burger could be. It reminded me a bit of falafel, but wasn't greasy at all. Definitely worth a try! read more

I'm so glad they opened up one of these closer to my work & I now frequent it for lunches! Their burgers are great & as part of the lunch time menu they're priced pretty decently! you pay around 7/8 Euro for a burger (with a choice of different breads) and +4 Euro to make it a meal with fries/salad, a cold drink and a coffee (which you can get to go if you're in a hurry). They don't have the usual brands of drinks so instead of my usual Coke I end up drinking water - so I guess you could say they're also making me slightly healthier?! I've always had pretty decent service here - so for Munich I guess that's excellent service!? They're all pretty friendly and happy to help you out in German and/or English. The only thing is they've taken the sesame bagel of the menu - although apparently it was ordered quite frequently - so now I have to stick to Vollkorn. read more

As a fat, burger-munching American, I really liked this place. The premise was cute and location very nice with a great interior. I had the burger with the pepper sauce and it was fantastic. I was really blown away by the buns though, made from delicious bread! Definitely recommend. read more

The place is pretty crowded so making a reservation would be a good idea. So the service is whatever. You come in and wonder where you'll sit for a few minutes until anyone comes and says anything to you. They pass by you without saying, "hey I'll be with you in a second" so pretty much you need to flag these chicks down to get a table. The burger was just okay. Not amazing, but also I come from California where burgers are amazing so maybe it'd be best to compare this place to the local Munich burgers. But ya....nice thick fries. Cool atmosphere. read more

Unfortunately the quality has slipped since I was in this place about 1 year ago. Patties were thinner, quality somewhere between ok and good. When I first went to the place, I was a fan of the Burgers. Now they are definitely below avarage between many other Burger places that have poped up in the last couple of years. read more
