We sat indoors and it was not much cooler than out. Although I have never been to Vietnam, the interior makes one feel as if they are there. We decided to try a variety of the Saigon tapas. We ordered the appetizer platter (grilled shrimp with mango salad, crispy chicken wings, spring rolls, grilled beef, fried dumplings) and grilled eggplant. I think scallops were added as a bonus item. Honestly, most things tasted the same as they are heavy on fish sauce and crushed peanuts. I love fish sauce though, so the food was enjoyable to me. Overall, my Vietnamese cravings were satisfied.

All starters are €5.50; all main items are €13.50. To start, I got the Tempeh Bowl. For my main, I got the Hanoi Pho. My starter came out. Both came out in little over 5 minutes. The tempeh starter was really nice and generously portioned. It came with plenty of little the cubes and all sorts of mixed veggies, cooked in a nice soy sauce marinade. The Hanoi Pho was fairly authentic, with a nice depth to the broth -- lots of five spice, anise, cinnamon and clove -- with the most delectable vegan beef, several types of mushrooms (oyster and king oyster I think, bok choy and some garnishes (green onions). The noodles were medium-width and plentiful. Very nice service, well-priced and tasty food. Recommended.

I believe beef chop-suey is very tasty, but unfortunately I cannot say the same for their sweet and sour chicken, which tastes a little different than the usual. Also, even though almost all of the appetizers taste quite good, they are deep fried and a little oily. Overall, if your expectations are not very high and you are looking for a place to eat quick and cheap Asian food in Poppelsdorf, where there is no other Vietnamese or Thai restaurant, you might give Wokboy a try.

Note…read morethat they have multiple locations, but the one with the highest rating seemed to have the best vibe. Overall, I'd give their food 8.3/10: - Mandu 8.3/10: Nicely pan fried/cooked, enjoyable but slightly too expensive in my opinion - Yangnyeom Fried Chicken: 9/10: Authentic Yangnyeom (sweet and spicy sauce) korean fried chicken. Must try if stopping by - Ramen: 7/10: Average ramen - Tofu Pork Soup: 8.3/10: Fairly authentic korean tofu soup so the flavour was nice. I was expecting a bit more (soft) Korean tofu, but I guess there was more pork in there than expected.

As starters we tried the fried tofu and steamed vegetable gyoza. The tofu was super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside - the perfect texture combination, and delicious too. The gyoza were not very intense in flavor but delicious. The portions are also pretty big and absolutely worth the money (the vegetarian ones were 9,50€ and the soup noodles 14,80). The restaurant is also pretty modern and nice, and they have a terrace facing the back which means it's quiet and a nice place to have lunch at. The staff is super friendly and speaks Chinese fluently, and some of them also speak German and/or English. The entrance might be a little hidden as it's off the main road, but there is a sign above it, and you just need to take the elevator or stairs to the first (one up from the ground) floor.
