The items that had been placed at the head of my Moms grave had been tossed over onto another grave and left there. The corner stone markers for the plot had been dug up and tossed aside as well. Of course I was told they would never do that. This is an extremely rural cemetery and everything was in its place just a couple of weeks prior. I explained that there was really no other explanation. I was then told they would contact my Father and have him meet him at the cemetery to move the headstone into the proper location. SURPRISE! WE NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN. IF YOU ARE IN THE MARKET FOR A HEADSTONE............LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I live in another state and I recently stopped by to see my family's grave. I was tired from…read moretraveling and the last thing that I needed to see was my family's headstone topped, a branch over my mother's grave AND my mother in an unmarked grave. Prior to visiting I had contacted Forest Park Cemetery St. Vincent for photographs. They said they would send then and then they did not. I also had a name change on my cemetery plots and they gave me a new deed that was changed. This deed was different from my original deed and it had a stamped signature instead of an original "wet" signature with a notary. I have called on multiple occasions requesting an original deed and to honor the deed that I was given in 1999 since it was only a name change; however, there has been no positive outcome yet. I am also waiting for the engraving to be completed for my mother and father's side of the headstone. I paid $3400 on September 10, 2024 and I have received no confirmation that it has been completed yet. I am waiting on the original deed so that I can have the cemetery plots registered with Caddo Parish since it is real property. They called me to let me know that the original deed that I was given is NOT an original deed. The staff is non-responsive and I would not recommend doing business with Forest Park Cemetery. If they can send me my original deed honoring what was written from the 1999 deed, which they have the original because I had to give it to them to make a name change, AND have the engraving completed on my family's headstone then I will consider changing their review.

Let's start by putting a couple of trash barrels near the office so patrons may throw away old flower arrangements and other unwanted memorabilia. There are attractive choices available for trash bins that would work quite well. And then let's empty them on a regular basis unlike the ONE blue plastic trash barrel that has been full with the same trash for months now. Next, how about we throw out a little fire ant killer now and then and remove the ant mounds that cover headstones? How about we figure out a better way to dig new graves without rutting up the existing graves of our dead that are buried there? I'm no cemetery maintenance genius, but I have worked in and around construction my entire adult life and I know that I could figure out a way to do it because I CARE ABOUT THE QUALITY OF MY WORK. I know this has been a wet winter, but that is no excuse. It can be done. Finally, for now, let's run a lawn mower and weed eater once or twice during the winter. Especially late winter when the pre emergent stuff starts coming up and makes everything else look like crap.
