Visiting from FL & stumbled on this gem last night. Seems to be a local spot. Sat and ate at the…read morebar. Food was delicious & the bartender was very personable and provided excellent service. I had scallops & shrimp Mac & Cheese and it was delicious with very fresh seafood. My daughter had the Pollo Maria and she said very fresh with crispy breading. Our other family member had the flounder, shrimp & grits and it was the probably the tastiest out of all 3 dishes.

Cassie was behind the bar and a true pro at working that whole liquor dispensing thing...Great attitude cause I'm not much of a beer drinker and so I had her run through the entire beer offerings and she did it with grace! Plus I mighta had a more prurient interest cause she had to bend over...Hey! I ain't proud but I am a guy!!! PS She also has a double barreled personality, if you know what I'm saying... Excellent locale right next to Milanos and just a class interior and decor...got a postage stamp stage and I was told they have live music...I have a feeling that if I ever visit this place after dark with a crowd I'll be updating to a 5...however this is a great place for day drinking and I say that because that's all I've ever done here but as stated above I'm sureI I'd love this place after dark!! Not the enlightened selection that I am used to but it is what it is. Appears lots of regulars, the bartender knew everyone but me, but didn't make me feel unwanted. Handed me a koozy for my Corona and chatted for a bit till my friend arrived. There is no food here, just the usual chips and nuts. Has typical bar games, pool, soft darts and a jukebox. The ceiling is adorned with all kinda scribbling and the outside is painted in a desert theme. Odd it isn't a swamp theme but hey, someone has to be different. It is very near highway 90, and close to the State Police Troop C station. There is a few hotels close by and fast food though if you get munchies. For a quick in and out with beer, this is a nice place to check out, but more than likely, I wont be coming back. Atleast I know of it, and now you do too.

It was very convenient to where I needed to be, and it is located right behind the Civic Center, so that would be great if you have an event there. The lobby area is very large with great seating options, and it really has a glam feel to it. Check in was very easy, and the delightful employee made sure I was quickly to my room. I was given complementary water, so that came in handy with hydrating! There is just one elevator on the side were I needed to go, so I suppose that could be an issue if there's large crowds or for busy check in/check out times. My king room was on the 4th floor. The room is very large and was very clean. A large flat screen, mini fridge, coffee set up, and all the other usual items were there. The AC works VERY well, and it did not have that overly damp hotel room feel. I walked around the hotel, and it has a nice indoor and outdoor pool, and large workout room that even has free weights, and some of the rooms even have balconies overlooking the pool. I weighed my nearby restaurant options, but decided to just eat in the hotel bar area (I missed happy hour, but they have some deals during that.) I was a bit shocked at the prices of the food -- VERY affordable. I went back and forth on a few items and, per the sway of the employee there, chose the quesadillas. I was very satisfied and walked out not spending too much on a drink and dinner. I would have spent more if I would have gone off site. Back to my room, it was very quiet all night - nothing woke me up. The bed was pretty comfortable, and the shower worked all as it should. The icing on the cake is a noon check out! I was able to race, attend (and receive) the race award ceremony, go back to to the room to clean up and lie down for a bit, and then head home by 11:30. That is SO convenient when you sweat all morning and have a long drive home. I will absolutely stay here again when my path leads me to Houma in the future!
