Called for a washing machine issue on my Samsung. Hank's appliance sent their technician about 4 days later. The technician that came "Marvin" who was excellent. On time, very pleasant and professional. He found the problem with in 20 minutes of being at my home and repaired the problem. The rate was more than reasonable that I gave him a tip. Ask for Marvin for your repair/s and you will be more than satisfied. 5 's all the way. read more

Called Hanks as they were they were suggested by Samsung to repair my dryer. The first time we had someone come, he pulled apart my entire dryer and told us that they just needed to replace the drum belt but also replaced pulley's and a few other parts. The first repair person told us that we had a 3 month warranty. After the first repair, our dryer started making a nose that sounded like metal gridding against each other, we thought, maybe it's the new parts molding to the dryer but as the weeks progressed it got worse. So I called Hanks because their repair person was the last to touch the dryer. They send a different repair person to my house. Again, he pulls apart the entire dryer and tells me one of the parts is broken and I need to pay for it. NO THANKS...it's a part that you replaced. For some reason, the first repair man did not note it on the work order but verbally told us what he replaced. I told Repair man #2 that I was not paying for it and he can call who he needs to in order to do the job because had repair man #1 not touched what was not broken then we wouldn't be in the position. Repair man #2 called his "boss" who spoke with my husband and while speaking with my husband told him "why did you wait for 2 months" fair enough, but I have a warranty for a reason and I'm going to use it because again, it's a part that a repair person from Hank's replaced. Repair man #2's "boss" tells him to take him off of speaker phone not knowing I can still hear him and says to him "do you have the part? if so, replace it and tell them to fuck off and get the hell out of there" Perhaps you want to try and track who repair person #2 was speaking with and train them on their customer service and professionalism. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I have a Samsung Refrigerator that has stopped cooling. I called an appliance repair professional to come to my home to diagnose the issue. They provided me with a full report stating that it was a faulty compressor. They advised me that Samsung has a 10 year warranty on the compressor and that i should to through Samsung for repair. After providing all the information to Samsung, they created a service ticket with Hank's Appliance Repair. After receiving an email and text from Hank's, it was very difficult for me to get any answers or updates from them. they said they prefer text communications however it was days between their responses. I called their phone numbers an no one would ever answer live. They finally decided to come over a week later with nothing more that a text message 20 mins before they arrived, good thing i was available. When onsite, the technician was only trying to discredit what the previous technician had diagnosed, stating that it was an internal leak however it would cost another $282 just for him to find where the leak is and maybe another $800 - $1000 to fix. Based on all the research i've already done it was clear to me this was just a money grab. Since the compressor is under warranty by Samsung i asked if he would order me the part and i can have it installed on my own. He stated no, and they he would have to install the part and would charge me an additional $450 for labour plus additional cost for other parts needed as well, far more than the part it self cost. Stephane at Hank's Appliance went above and beyond to help us with our brand new Samsung washer / dryer set that came as a mismatch. Both Samsung Canada and Canadian Appliance Source (where we purchased) did not believe us or care that the units were different heights. Stephane came to our home several times, even outside of our scheduled appointment to take pictures and advocate on our behalf. I will never purchase a Samsung appliance again or buy anything else from CAS who did absolutely nothing to help but I would definitely recommend Hanks Appliances. This company provided excellent service and showed that they truly cared about their customers - too bad the big guys don't. Thank you Hank's. read more

My parents have used this shop for years so I was happy to hear that they would be sent to fix my dishwasher by my extended warranty program. That was late in December 2010. They came and 'fixed' it finally in March when the parts supposedly came in after numerous calls. One week later it was doing the same thing. When I called back they said the delay before was because they had to wait for the warrant company to ok the repair but the repairman hadn't closed the file so he would be back out the next day to assess/fix the problem. The tech came and said he had to order 3 parts and that he would be back when they arrived. I called to check up on the status every 2 weeks after that and was told repeatedly that the parts were on order but that the owner was having difficulty getting parts for this dishwasher model or that their computers were down so they couldn't check but would call me back (never did). Once it got to be late June, I called the warrant company again and complained because my calls were not being answered/returned by Hanks Appliance. They told me that they stopped doing business with Hanks a while ago due to poor customer service. I feel shocked that a business that had such a good reputation would screw me around like that and lead me on instead of being honest and telling me that they were having difficulty with the warranty company. I will never ever do business with them nor with my parents or any of my family/friends/coworkers with whom I have shared my story. There are 7 in my family and we rely on the dishwasher a lot. Shame on you both staff and owners for being so sneaky and underhanded and leaving me in the lurch. :(( read more
