"Nurse visits" aren't with a nurse, but a patient care assistant. I would prefer an RN administering vaccines to my child so questions can be appropriately answered. They have always been punctual with honoring appointments. This pediatrician office is fine.

We have been taking our two children to Arroyo Chamiso for 5 years. In that time we've seen 3…read moredifferent doctors come and go, which is very distressing, especially for my kids, who like their doctors and just when they start to trust their doctors, that doc is gone. We are now with Dr. Kleiner, who was a founding member of the practice, so hopefully this won't be a problem any more. We have always liked our pediatricians at this practice, and the nursing staff is excellent. The phone triage nurses do tend to err on the side of caution, so beware. If you have any issue and you want actual advice, be prepared to bring your child in to see a clinician. My biggest issue with this practice (other than the rotating door of docs) is the reception staff. As gatekeepers, these women are impenetrable. Trying to get a sick-child appointment can take an entire day, between the reception staff and the terrible phone tree. I have noticed (and have had this confirmed with other patient families) that when a man calls, the reception staff is much more responsive. They will return my husband's phone messages, and will respond to his him waiting on hold, where when I call they will just leave me on hold until I hang up and call back.

Southwest care doesn't need u negative people!! Ive been coming to SWCC for 16 years now. I TRAVEL 3 HRS to get to SWCC !!! I had full blown aids when I got there ! Today I live as if I've never been sick !!! Thanks to everyone at SWCC, I wouldn't be alive today !!! Not once in the past 16 years have I ever been treated bad in any way !!! Sure Drs and social workers move on, but be positive about the doctors and others who have been placed UR way !!! I've had 5 doctors and 5 social worker and have NEVER FALLEN between the cracks, where one left off the next one picked up !!! I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for everyone at SWCC ! I'm not royalty or anyone special to have received such above and beyond care !! FOR THE UNGREATFUL PEOPLE WHO GO TO SWCC, TRY BEING MORE POSITIVE AND LOOK FOR THE GOOD THING OFFERED TO U !!! BE GREATFUL THAT THERES SUCH A GREAT PLACE TO GO FOR CARE !!! IF U ARENT HAPPY WITH SWCC, THEN TRY TO FIND A BETTER PLACE AND LET US CONTINUE RECIEVING OUR WONDERFUL CARE !!!

The provider demonstrated social hostility towards me in a vague passive aggressive "concern" frame by offering generic unsolicited advice and every-time I would advocate for myself I would be dismissed. The provider kept using this reverse psychology nonsense on me implying I needed a shrink and dietitian in an effort to position himself above me and to justify his judgments and biases towards me. What triggered the dietitian comment was my BMI of 24 and the false narrative of me being 20 lbs overweight when my weight is due to muscle, in conjunction with slightly elevated LDL that is genetically based. Aside from that there were other things that are too embarrassing to mention here, but I can tell you that I felt like I was on the receiving end of social hostility and pigeonholing. I don't need a dietitian or a shrink I need to be treated like a human being and not be subjected to the personal judgments of others who are supposed to be objective in my care and not their personal opinions affect their professionalism. We as a society need to do better.
