From the start, I had to push for an MRI when my symptoms weren't improving, which he at first kept claiming was unnecessary. When the MRI finally showed a fracture, Dr. Bastani told me he didn't believe it -- that it was probably a radiology error because he had ordered a "lower-grade" MRI. He wanted me to just ignore the diagnosis. I had to advocate for myself again just to get him to follow up with the radiologist. He eventually ordered a CT scan, which confirmed the fracture. Even after that, he didn't offer a clear treatment plan. When I asked whether I should continue walking on the injury or be immobilized, his advice was essentially "It's 50/50 -- you can choose." I felt like I was being left to make medical decisions alone without proper guidance. I was told that Dr. Bastani follows a "conservative" approach, but in my experience, that felt more like avoidance than thoughtful care. When I brought up valid concerns about long-term joint health and arthritis, I wasn't given a clear plan --that isn't what conservative care should look like. Conservative medicine should still involve communication, reassurance, and a willingness to guide the patient. Instead, I was left to carry the uncertainty on my own. Every visit felt rushed, and I never felt like he took the time to understand my full history or concerns. With a nerve injury already affecting my gait, and a fracture that involved a joint, I needed someone willing to look at the full picture -- not someone who seemed eager to move to the next patient. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Bastani to anyone dealing with a complex injury or long-term healing concerns. In the end, I sought a second opinion that gave me a much clearer understanding of my healing status and a more personalized recovery plan. If you have a straightforward injury, Dr. Bastani may work for you, but if you have concerns that require clear communication, detailed care, or support navigating something more than a basic sprain, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Great bedside manner, knew his stuff, clear, patient with me, explained things clearly, and suggested treatment that aligned with a doctor I'd been recently treated by, Dr. Hattan (who was the second doctor I saw after visiting a terrible doctor Dr. Petersen of Pacific Foot and Ankle Center who, from my experience, shouldn't be practicing medicine!). It is extraordinarily important to shop around for good doctors, especially when it comes to your health and such a wide variety of medical professionals out there. Dr. Kolondenker is a top-rate doctor in every way, and it shows. Now I have two great podiatrists to make up for the one bad one, and when Dr. Hattan is out of town or booked, I will see Dr. Kolondenker. He's truly the best of the best in every way. I was greatly impressed, which is not easy for me since I have such high standards.

The staff offered me the choice of a same-day appointment or one the following day. I chose the next day, and the scheduling process was incredibly easy and convenient. From the moment I arrived, everyone was welcoming and professional. Check-in was quick, and I was called back to the exam room within minutes. Shortly after, Dr. Yang came in, which I really appreciated because I wasn't left waiting like I have been at many other medical offices. Dr. Yang took the time to explain my options for treating my pinky toe. He explained the difference between removing the ingrown portion of the nail, which would eventually grow back, and performing a permanent procedure that involved numbing my toe, removing the nail, and applying acid to prevent it from growing back. He made sure I understood everything before moving forward. What impressed me the most was that I didn't expect the procedure to be done that same day. Based on my past experiences with other doctors, I assumed I would only be evaluated and then have to schedule another appointment for the actual procedure. Instead, Dr. Yang was able to take care of everything during my visit. I really appreciated not having to come back for a second appointment, which saved me both time and the cost of another copay. My entire visit, including check-in, the consultation, and the procedure was completed in less than an hour. It's refreshing to find a medical office that values patients' time while still providing exceptional care. I highly recommend Orange County Podiatry and Dr. Yang. Dr. Trivellas relieved me of my shoulder injury/pain…read more Imagine waking each morning with a pain of 8/10 to begin your day. Dr. Trivellas confirmed I had strength but I couldn't lift my right arm, as the MRI showed I apparently I had a 90% tear. When I received the call a much sooner surgery day was available in a few days instead of a few weeks, I had to take it. The nursing staff made my 7:30am check-in a smooth one, with lots of information shared with me. The waiting moments leading to Dr. Trivellas visiting before wheeling into surgery was calming. I remember the moment my oxygen mask was put on my face, and the next time I saw a room again I was in recovery. The nerve block was still doing its magic over the next 12 hours, reminding me that my days of waking in the night and morning with pain would be behind me soon. I want to thank Dr. Trivellas of course, but also: her scheduler, Yvonne who got me into the earlier surgery date; Reyna at the front desk to make sure my paperwork was in order; Hanna & Kristi, my Pre-Op nurses who prepped me for my surgery; Dr. Prunean who safely sent me to lala land; Elaine & Rich who were my OR Team; Mikki, my RNFA who let me know she'd be assisting Dr. Trivellas; and my Post-Op nurse Kristi who welcomed me back to reality in the recovery area. Everyone did a phenomenal job explaining the procedure during pre-op, but what really stood out was how lighthearted and funny they were. They cracked jokes throughout the process, which helped calm our nerves, because let's be honest, most people are at least a little anxious before anesthesia. Dr. Chi was fantastic at explaining the surgery and making sure my husband felt informed. The anesthesiologist (Dr. Gananiyja? Sorry lol doctor's handwriting in the notes is real ) was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor that put us at ease. That experience alone made such a lasting impression on me that I knew I had to switch to her practice for my second pregnancy (2026) and I'm so glad I did! From the very beginning of this second journey, she has shown an unmatched level of dedication, compassion, and expertise. What truly sets Dr. Howe apart is how deeply she cares about her patients. She is exceptionally knowledgeable and always took the time to answer my questions thoroughly, making sure I felt informed and confident every step of the way. Before booking, I specifically asked if they accepted my insurance, and they told me they did. When my husband and I arrived for the appointment today, I asked the receptionist to once again confirm that they accepted my insurance. She checked, then even called someone else to verify. After confirming that they did, I paid my $50 copay. We sat down to complete the paperwork. About 15 minutes later, another employee came out and asked to speak with me. She informed me that they do not accept my insurance. I was shocked and explained that I had now been told twice that they did. Her response was that "it's hard to tell" and that "we can't always know." I'm sorry, but that is unacceptable. The fact that a doctor's office "can't always know" if someone's insurance is accepted is absurd. Verifying insurance coverage is a basic responsibility of a medical office. The fact that it's "hard to tell" for the very people whose job it is to verify whether they accept your insurance is ridiculous. It is literally their job to know how to confirm this. These statements do not inspire confidence in their ability to manage something as important as patient care. She also tried to justify the mistake by telling me their paperwork states they aren't responsible for knowing whether their practice accepts your insurance. Since I had just carefully read through the paperwork, I knew that wasn't true. I asked her to show me. She flipped through the pages, quietly read the section to herself, then simply said, "Well, anyways..." when she realized it didn't say what she claimed. I'm relieved I found out they don't accept my insurance before my appointment. However, I had already waited two weeks for this appointment. My husband took time off work to come with me. I've been experiencing spotting during my pregnancy and was anxious to be evaluated and make sure everything was okay. Because this office failed to verify my insurance correctly from the beginning, I'm now back at square one and will likely have to wait even longer to establish prenatal care elsewhere. A couple of additional notes: * This doctor's office was also on a list of providers who took my insurance, which I received from my insurance company * What the paperwork actually says is that they aren't responsible if outside services, such as lab work or imaging, aren't covered by your insurance, and that they only bill insurance for one service per appointment, meaning additional services, such as a wellness exam and an ultrasound, may not be covered. As I was reading those policies before learning they didn't accept my insurance, they already seemed sketchy and problematic to me. It felt like being a patient at this practice would mean having to triple check every decision they made to make sure you didn't get stuck with unexpected bills. * While I was waiting, I was also told that they hadn't even scheduled the ultrasound that was the primary reason for my visit. Their plan was to have me see the provider first and then figure out the ultrasound afterward. That only added to my impression that this office is disorganized and poorly managed. * After leaving, I had to call the office myself to ask how I would be refunded the $50 copay they charged me before realizing they didn't accept my insurance. We will see how long it takes for that to be resolved. This experience was incredibly stressful at a time when I needed reassurance and medical care. I would not recommend this practice.
