They are extremely polite and authentic in their concern. My step mom suffers from congenital heart failure and when she seemed weaker and weaker, I called 911. The team came promptly and were very kind to her and helpful in checking her and suggesting the hospital as the next step. This means I can add GV Fire to the plus side of living in "God's Waiting Room." And from my perspective there aren't that many positives about living here, that is, for those of us who still have our wits about us. Still waiting for the housing crisis to improve!

I did first aid only. The class was inadequate. There was no practice component at all...even…read morethough you can take the class online so people choose in person for the practical practice. We didn't learn the content; we did the final exam together and either the answers were obvious or we didn't know. They didn't get me proof of completion for 3 weeks. Our class was over filled and there were not enough certificate cards. Fine...mine can be mailed. I didn't get it (also fine...they aren't responsible if mail doesn't arrive) so a week later I called. I had a note to send a new card placed on my file. I didn't get that one either, and the employee I talked snarkily asked "didnt you get a card in class?". The date was late September 2023; a government shutdown looked likely and that could affect mail. So I requested an email. I didn't get one, so I emailed the email on my confirmation email. I added my phone number and said a text picture was fine too. Nothing. I wrote back again and said I needed it by this Monday or I would be consulting an attorney about the next step. Still nothing. I called a third time and a confused employee said she had talked to me before and I had been sent two emails. I asked why an email with the certificate isn't automatic anyway, and the answer was "because you took the class in person...not online". Shortly after this I got an automated text saying "sorry we missed your call". I finally got an email, but with a message saying "I got a message that you don't have your card. I mailed all cards last week, but here is an email since you requested one. Send me your address and I will mail the card.". Absolutely ridiculous. We get an automatic confirmation email, and employers prefer an email to a picture of the card.

The General First Aid/CPR/AED class (which lasts 5 hours) is sometimes required by an employer but I recommend taking the class just in case there is an emergency at home. You are not required to buy books or supplies for the class itself but you can purchase kits and books later on. Our instructor was very nice and informative. They are very thorough and I recommend you bring paper and a pen for notes. They offer a Wilderness First Aid class and Pet First Aid course too.

The very nice lady at the front desk said they were short staffed. I understood. My appointment had been for noon and they called me back at 12:45. Got through the interview/exam aspect and then was brought to a bed. There were two men working there, one with long dark hair in a pony tail and the other with short light brown hair. The second guy came over, asked the standard questions, put a BP cuff around me and then left to take care of the woman in the next bed, who was ready to leave. Never came back. And never drew my blood. When I looked over he was slowly and methodically cleaning the tools and her bed. I asked if he couldn't at least get me started and then go back to his cleaning and he said "Well, hopefully someone will come out". Huh?? My time is worth something, jackass. So I ripped off my BP cuff and left. Will not be returning.

Amber is great- so fun, kind, and great at explaining each step! Birthday party- everyone could pick their own project, which was really cool Chunky knit blanket- SO soft and cozy! Instructions were great and I love how my blanket turned out! Board and charcuterie class- 1000% do this one! :) First half of the class is a project- make your own charcuterie board, second half of the class is charcuterie food suggestions/ideas with Chef Nadia (@foodmymuse on instagram!). DELICIOUS!! I can't wait to make my own charcuterie board after trying all the new incredible cheeses, etc that Nadia brought for us! Oh, and classes are BYOB!
