I've been a client at Bayview RMT for years now. Their location is accessible (a 5 min walk from…read morethe Bayview TTC subway station), their hours are convenient (7 days a week, 8am-9pm), their booking system is user-friendly, and their treatment rooms are spacious, quiet and clean. But more than anything, their RMTs are top-notch: skilled, professional, pleasant. Special shoutout to Manuela, who has helped me deal with various aches and pains all these years. I think the best way to describe how Manuela treats you is she listens with her hands - she never just goes through the motions or just sticks to a checklist. While she asks you at the start where the problematic areas are, she is also always hyper-aware as she goes through the treatment on areas you never thought needed a bit more work. Would highly highly recommend Manuela and Bayview RMT.

Got a 60 minute Thai full body massage with Sandy…read more I asked for a Swedish but she started doing Thai and I (internally laughed and) thought to myself, "oh well let's just try it" - I did not regret it! Some parts of the massage hurt like when she used her fingers and toes to lessen the tension in my back and neck but nothing was unbearable. She focused on my back, shoulders, and legs. The deep tissue massages through my sore muscles was very much needed! I particularly enjoyed when she'd distribute her body weight by stepping on my back and legs. If you've never had someone step on your back, here's a place you can try it! Sandy also used Thai oil and it made my skin feel and smell amazing. I love how comfortable the room was with great smells, a comfortable massage surface, and really relaxing music. In addition for massages, I prefer if there's minimal talking and we didn't speak at all which was a bonus. I was so relaxed I drooled and was drifting to sleep! Note: no registered massage therapists available here and you can get a discount if you pay with cash. I would certainly return.

The receptionist was very pleasant both on the phone and in person. We were greeted right away and we were brought to our room. They have a weekday special running from 12 PM to 5 PM an hour long reflexology for $60. My husband who mind you never likes to go out and do these types of things said that he definitely will be coming back to do the weekday special. Can't wait to see you guys soon!

I had the worst and most disappointing massage experience at Comfort Zone Richmond Hill…read more I called the day before to book a Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) session, and the receptionist clearly confirmed a 7:15 PM appointment. When we arrived, they couldn't even find my name or appointment at first -- everything was written in a paper notebook with pen, which already showed how disorganized they are. After searching by my phone number, they finally "found" it and told us to go in. After the session, they charged us around $190 with tip and tax. When I asked for a receipt to submit to my insurance (as it was supposed to be an RMT session), they said: "You weren't booked for RMT." This was shocking because I specifically booked an RMT massage over the phone, and they confirmed it. Instead of taking responsibility for their own mistake, they simply denied it. Overall, this place is either extremely unorganized and poorly managed, or they are misleading customers intentionally. Either way, I will never return and do NOT recommend this place to anyone looking for a real RMT massage or professional service.

I found myself having to find another massage therapist after the less satisfying massage from…read moreanother provider. I found Main Street Massage from the good ol' Google machine and they just so happen to have an online booking system as well. Not only do they have massage therapy, they also have osteopathy services too. However, I've only used their message therapy services thus far. The first available massage appointment was with Loida. Loida was friendly and wanted to know more about me and we got talking about cupping. I've always wanted to try cupping but hadn't found somewhere for it. Loida use silicone cups on me, she says they're training ones to work up to the proper ones. It did hurt (it's supposed to), but the pain was manageable and the areas that were cupped felt much more relaxed afterwards. I also got an appointment with Sarah and she is also wonderful. She didn't use the cups on me, but all my issues were addressed. She didn't press to make small talk and sometimes I enjoy that because then I can focus on my breathing, since I tend to stop breathing when the RMT gets to a difficult spot. While I do already have a dedicated RMT, I am now adding Main Street Massage Therapy to my list for when my RMT is super booked up and I need an appointment sooner rather than later.

Blue Sky Health Center is in the middle of the Dundas strip of Chinatown on the north side between…read moreSpadina and Beverley around the AGO where this area kinda ends. My first impression is that this is the most legit spa I've seen in Chinatown so far. Even their business card says "accept insurance" on it so someone there must have a RMT license and adhere to the rules enough to keep their license. The other thing that gave me a more elevated impression about Blue Sky is that they have some expensive looking gear in there. Not that I know what it's for but it looks impressive. Now that I've tried reflexology, I'm hooked on that and find it relaxing and a great way to get in the mood for a massage. It helps to be in the right mood for a massage to be effective. If it takes a half hour into the massage to get that way, then that's less time for the massage to do the most good. I had a smartly-dressed more mature woman named Lucy take care of me, and she told me to try and sleep or relax with the reflexology and turned the lights right down to pretty dark which was great and worked a treat. Since they tend to massage up your calves it's almost a good idea to take your pants off, or wear light sweatpants so they aren't fighting their way down during the reflexology. Next the massage and her technique was quite impressive. She wasn't a large person but amazingly strong and could boss my body around without a problem. I appreciated how she could grab a leg or other part and shake it like you sometimes want to shake sense into someone (but can't) and in this case my body needed some sense shaken into it, so wow I'll be considering Lucy as my go-to for the best value in Chinatown massage done right! I didn't see it on the sign in the room, but at the desk they listed a 90-min massage as an option, which would be awesome especially coupled with another 30-min of reflexology beforehand. Recommended!

I decided to do the 30 minute foot reflexology with the 10 minute shoulder massage and then get the free 10 minutes added on to it. At the time I went, it was $40 total. The place was clean and the rooms were private. Seating area looked very nice. I really enjoyed my foot rub but I did find the shoulder massage was mediocre. I don't think the therapist was targeting the right spots. Perhaps getting one of the other staff might have been better. Other than that, it was a good price.
