Legal matters are usually…read morejust business--but when it comes to family or deeply personal issues, you look for someone you can truly trust. That kind of empathy and genuine care is incredibly rare in any profession. With Mike, all it took was a single message. He didn't care about the time, the potential reward, or who I was. He never judged me or my personal circumstances. From beginning to end, he handled my case as if it were his own--fully present, deeply committed, and entirely human. And once everything was resolved, he simply shook my hand and said, "I hope we meet again in better times." No ego, no show--just quiet strength and professionalism. I'm leaving this review so others know that there are still true professionals out there--professional plus plus, just like Mike. Thank you for everything.

They have on several occasions brought to our attention issues or concerns that might have delayed closings with less competent firms but not Metka! In all of our years and closings they have never had a closing delayed. We appreciate the value that their experience brings to the process and will continue to use their firm. If you are new to Florida - go with an experienced firm, go with Metka!

We highly recommend The Metka Law Firm. Chelsea Metka and her fantastic team were absolutely…read moreawesome when we moved to Florida and bought a house in 2021. We liked them so much we used them again selling the house in 2026. I mention the following only so that the reader of my review may understand the depth of my appreciation for their services -- I'm an attorney myself and practiced for a long time in a large law firm, and have an appreciation not only for thoroughness but also efficiency. The Metka team accomplishes that, while also being delightful to deal with (which is not necessarily a trait of "Big Law" :-). Indeed, they were an oasis of composure and assistance in our rather hectic move to the area. If you're shopping for lawyers in their area of expertise, save yourself the time -- you're done, use the Metka Law Firm.

I had no idea this was even about a different association. I emailed and called multiple times trying to get answers, and instead of help, the first response I got was from this law firm demanding over $4,000, including future "accelerated" fees that aren't even due yet. The way they communicate is cold, dismissive, and completely lacking in compassion. They don't care if there's confusion, a mistake, or a misunderstanding--they just pile on threats and pressure. Even after I explained the situation, showed proof of my payments, and said I was happy to pay the legitimate balance, they refused to show any flexibility or empathy. This isn't just about collecting money--it's about how you treat people. And Di Masi Burton treats people like problems to crush, not human beings to help. There is nothing "professional" about sending canned responses while ignoring the stress and frustration you're causing. If you ever have the misfortune of dealing with them, prepare yourself for a cold wall of legal threats, zero understanding, and a total absence of basic human decency.

google reviews are way higher for leach firm for some reason. I think the majority of there reviews…read moreare for personal injury cases. i think the majority of their cases are personal injury as well. My case was related to workplace discrimination; im a black engineer. At the time that I hired leach firm I was earning close to 200k a year. I had no performance issue with my former employer until after I hit them with a eeoc complaint. My case was well documented as well. I filled a racial discrimination complaint against my now former employer with the help of Leach firm. Leach firm works on a contingency plan (60%/40%) My attorney was Ed Wimp initially but half way through my case he resigned and started his own practice. My case was then taken over by attorney ryan glover whom also is not with leach firm any more. When the Leach firm opened the eeoc case my former employer retaliated against me making my life a living hell with increased work load, excessive scrutiny of my work, condescending comments in meetings, eventually placing me on a performance improvement plan (PIP) over the course of several month and then firing me. they wanted me out clearly. Before I was fired I explained to my attorney about the egregious work environment and they urged me not to quit as that would jeopardize my case. I was sickly during that time of being placed on a pip. even diagnosed with ptsd. I endured it following the strategy of my attorney which was that firing me after filling a eeoc claim can be considered retaliation thinking it would pay off bigger in the long run. So we finally get to mediation about 6 months (im still unemployed and living on savings) after I was fired because my former employer attorney strategically changed the mediation date about 5 times pushing out the mediation meeting which by the way my attorney never disputed. Im not saying that his dispute would change anything but from the optics it just appeared he didn't give a 2 cents about any of the faulty etiquette of mediation postponement. We started negotiations at 185K and after 6 hours of back and forth it went down to 60K and I knew I was in trouble. I specifically told my attorney my bottom number was 80K. by the way the leach firm have in their contracts a disclaimer that they can override your decision to accept a offer if they feel the offer is adequate. after 8 hours the offer was down to 45K. I was livid and here is why. Optics again, no fight from my attorney. My attorney's strategy was basically take the offer because if we go to court we may lose because these cases are hard to win especially in Florida federal so its better to get something now than nothing later. The leach firm did more negotiating with me during mediation on why I should accept the 45K than they did trying to argue why I deserved a higher amount to the opposing legal team. I felt as if I was being ambushed. For the leach firm it was all about getting the most money for the least amount of work. Nothing in their process about getting the most you deserve. There approach is cookie cutter and neglects to utilize the uniqueness of each case. They think in volume only. handling quantity of cases instead of providing quality to cases. It makes for good business to just think about volume of cases but thinking only in volume reflects on poor reputation of the firm when it comes to performance. Had I had know that going through the pip, getting fired, getting ptsd, getting insulted at work, being unemployed for 6 months wasn't going to strengthening my case in terms of what my attorney could use for arguments to fight for higher damage compensation for me I would have just quit because me staying in that hostile work environment only benefited the leach firm and not me.

Thanks for asking, Yelp. (Original review) (Updated review) I am updating my original review as I did finally hear back from a lovely admin who stated she had called me previously, but didn't leave a message for privacy reasons. This does make it tough for someone to know whether or not they were called back. At the time we spoke, I had already handled my contract issues with another attorney, so I still can't properly review this firm's work, but I did appreciate a call back from a very kind woman who felt awful when she saw my original review.

In 2023, I hired this attorney (Gretchen Ortiz) to handle legal matters for the business I shared…read morewith my husband, as well as to assist with certain operational tasks related to the aesthetics division. Despite completing all required payments and providing the necessary information, the work was never completed, and communication became increasingly limited. The lack of progress and professional clarity led to her removal from any involvement with the business. What raised even greater concern was discovering, later on, during the beginning of my divorce process, that she reappeared representing my husband in matters connected to the same business for which I had initially hired her. From my perspective as the original client in this context, this created an obvious professional conflict of interest and completely eroded any trust I had left. My experience consists of payments without results, lack of follow-through, and professional decisions that I consider highly questionable. For these reasons, I CANNOT RECOMMEND HER SERVICES.
