Our first experience with Mac was a month or so ago. He did some yard work at our rental & did…read moregood. He was ontime. Two weeks ago we hired him to install replacement windows (we bought material) in a porch. While the windows were installed fine we had several other important issues he did not take care of. 1) he was VERY messy. Had caulk all over the wood trim & window frame (white caulk on red painted trim & wood shingle siding which cannot be painted over). 2) most areas of the caulk he did not spread so there was just a bead which was not in the hole. 3) left several gaps; no caulk. 4) did not clean up at all. All the old caulk & some trash from the new windows were all over the ground. A real professional also would have removed the stickers on the windows & cleaned them. He actually got caulk on some of the screens & the windows. Just very unprofessional. I sent him a photo or two & said this is horrible. He did not reply.

The…read moreoriginal company I contracted this work with bailed out at the last minute and left me in a bit of a lurch. I called Scott, he came out the same day, and was able to complete construction just in time for the birthday party. Scott did exceptional work, was up-front with me about pricing, and even did some additional detailing with staining, caulk, and re-centering a piece to account for a slight slope in my yard. Scott and Janet even came out an additional time to finish up some detail work that was far above and beyond what I expected. They were very positive (even in the Texas heat) and informed me about each step of the process, they even made improvement suggestions based on what they thought my daughter would like more. I completely trust J's Customized Home Services and will definitely use them again when I need something done around my house.

After completion and review, much of the work started to fail (see photos). I contacted Adam Lewis regarding these deficiencies and was repeated put off for 6 weeks. So no warranty. All communication and payments have been documented. So if you are comfortable having work done poorly with zero accountability 'Big Lews' will be right for you.

Mike Walker, M.H.I, did an excellent job repairing my front door. The attached pictures shows after…read moreand before repairs. My home was built and purchased 4 years ago from David Weekley Homes. The builder failed to perform basic workmanship to prevent rapid deterioration such as sealing and caulking the door appropriately. Mike even found mold in the door. He was able to repair and restore all of it in 2 days. Please note, my door is designed with distress characteristics. However, the distressed areas had significantly deteriorated in a mere 4 years time. I highly recommend Mike Walker, My Home Interiors, for any work you are looking to do. He's extremely knowledgeable and meticulous in his work. I definitely will use him again.

I had water damage from the kitchen sink to the cabinet underneath and also needed to replace the faucet. I did a search and communicated with a few companies, sent pictures, and a few came onsite for quotes. Mike was the ONLY contractor that came in, put shoe covers on, got down, and actually looked and checked out my pipes and cabinet flooring! Seriously, he was able to see that some of the rings and pipes had been installed backward, and he righted those, just did it!! He didn't try to get me to replace my entire kitchen, nor did he just open the cabinet and say he'd leave and send me a quote later. He explained what he would do, materials needed, time to do it, and worked with my schedule to allow time for me to get the parts I wanted. Day of service, he texted to confirm arrival time, showed up, and got to work! There was an unexpected challenge where the builder welded a metal piece improperly to the sink that wasn't accounted for, and even with that, MHI remained fair when I know other companies would have taken advantage in that situation. I am so blessed and fortunate to have received such a level of service and happily recommend this company to anyone!

A few years ago, I had a leak in my roof with water coming through the laundry room ceiling, and…read moreinitially called the contractor who had installed it to get an estimate for repairs. The estimate seemed high and the scope of work seemed deliberately narrow - I was told that the dryer vent needed to be replaced and that there was "no way to know for sure" if that would actually stop the leak. So, I would need to keep an eye on things when it rained and call them back out if the leak persisted. Even though the company had a decent reputation, the rep seemed to be less than trustworthy, to be polite. I found Floyd Heggie Roofing on Yelp and decided to give him a call. I was immediately impressed! After his inspection of the leak inside and the roof, his opinion was that the dryer vent did not need to be replaced, rather the area around it needed to be sealed. As water can obviously do lots of traveling before finally leaking through, he could not say 100% for certain that the dryer vent area was the culprit, although it seemed likely. There were a few other vents in the general area, and his recommendation was to go ahead and seal all of those as well, on the off chance that the dryer vent wasn't the problem. His estimate was very reasonable (less than the other company, even excluding the unnecessary new vent) and the recommended work eliminated the problem, instead of potentially setting me up for repeated service calls. When I recently purchased a new home, the inspection uncovered a few roof related items. The seller said they could not find anyone to do the repairs, possibly due to the steep pitch, but I knew exactly who to call. Once again, Floyd came through and installed a new fresh air vent for the fireplace and a new dryer vent, as well as taking a good look at the roof overall. Floyd takes excellent care of his customers and it is evident that he takes pride in his work. I have already recommended him to several friends and will continue to do so.
