First let me state my 56 year old mother didn't make it off the table under Maxy's knife. She had…read morebeen having neck pain for 8 years and every Dr. She saw said they wouldn't touch her neck. Her original Dr. Left town and refered her to Maxy. His God ego kicked in and said he would do the surgery bc according to him he's done thousands. All other DR's said she was too high risk and would have a longer life making her as comfortable as possible. This transition happened during Covid so Maxy is the only "Dr" I didn't get to speak with in person about her situation and his plans bc the referral came less than two weeks before she was scheduled to have the surgery after meeting him once. I have Power of Attorney, I'm next of kin, I'm also emergency contact. This surgery should have never happened without me speaking with this person first. My number has been the same for 15-16 years but on the day of surgery I got absolutely no updates about her surgery after about 8-9hrs I started calling getting no one to speak with me bc it was one day surgery and they were closed so finally an operator connected me to the OR and I spoke with a nurse in the room. She stated Maxy wanted to speak with me personally because they ran into some complications. He called me back about and hr or hr and a half later more worried about telling me they had been trying to reach me with up dates all day but I didn't give my number to the OR nurse so obviously they had the correct number if he called me back from where I called. His attitude on how successful his part went was mind blowing knowing he let my mother bleed out over 5,000ml bc of hitting a bubble (aneurysm) then having to get another Dr in to fix his mess took way too long. They had to use a minx stint going through her growin bc they couldn't figure out what he hit to cause her to bleed so much. Very careless practice. The stint caused her to have multiple strokes which then lead to her brain DEATH. They waited til the next day to airlift her. Assuring me she's only on the ventilator for safety reasons and he also (Maxy) said they were keeping her in ICU so she could have a nurse close by after the surgery making no real acknowledgment of what he had just done. It was just water under the bridge. This man took my mother's life way too early and assumed a Neurosurgeon would fix his mistake but once gotten to Mission they said the damages were done and there's nothing could be done. Maxy kept calling her nurses at Mission wanting to know what was going on but bc he didn't have permission to get updates they couldn't tell him. He was calling my cell (her daughter) as well bc I think he finally realized he messed up BIG TIME!!! The God ego of these DR's have got to stop. My mother should have never been in that OR, Maxy should have gotten to know her history longer than 2-3 weeks of having her as a patient before even considering doing this surgery. I don't believe any real Dr would have ever done this surgery on a patient with her history. This was MALPRACTICE at it's finest. I now get to have a funeral for my mother, my children's Nana all because money is so important over human life. Thanks our family truly appreciates you... Pain, confusion, death(murder), debt all in your honor.

this is actually for Jonas hill inpatient but attached to the same company…read more Do not come to this absolute disaster of a place if you are needing mental health care. Well unless if you're homeless and smear your own poop on the walls... then I guess you'll fit right in. They refused to follow the law when my partner asked for the 72 hour evaluation release form. At first the social worker Kim said she never requested it, when we requested it at check in at the ER, then again after they strip searched them, and then finally when I threatened with lawyers to bring it out and let her sign it during visitation hours. She then proceeded to question why would they want to sign these papers when they get here... she then went to "check" and then came back and told me that the papers were presented to them but they refused to sign them... when I said that's nonsense she said well when she came in she wasn't in her right mind so how would she know. This sent me into an absolute RAGE. This all made sense after I get to the next part of the story. They didn't spend anytime diagnosing my partner for the real illness they just blanket drugged them up with five medications. Medications that actually HURT someone and induce psychosis in someone with their condition. It's almost like they wanted my partner to stay ill... which made sense when I spoke with Bryan Robinson. If this man is on yours or your loved ones "care team" request someone else, or ask for your conversations to be recorded. We read reviews online and this man's name popped up with another review of someone saying that Brian lied about what was said in his weekend check in, which lead to them staying there longer. After speaking with him I believe it. This man's first comment to me was "I don't do discharges on the weekends" when in fact that weekend there was someone who was discharged... this man spent the time he was supposed to be evaluating my partner, actually arguing with them and trying to make them retract their request for the 72 hour evaluation form that was just signed. Comments like do you know what this form is?, why do you want to sign it? You know that this doesn't mean you will leave in 72 hours the doctors all here decide when you leave, why would you ask to sign this if you came here for help. Such disgusting behavior for someone who is supposed to have yours or your loved one's life in their hands. What a power trip. It all made sense when I started digging in and asking more questions of the staff. There was a homeless person that checked in AFTER my partner who was smearing his own poop on the walls. This person was released a day before my partner... when I was there for visitation a nurse laughed and said "well yeah that's because y'all have good insurance and he doesn't, we turn those people loose asap". UN FREAKING BELIEVABLE The worst part about all of this was they claimed the need to keep my partner longer when I brought all this up was because they "changed their medicine" and needed to monitor them. So when they finally did discharged them, they only sent them home with 2 of the five medications they were giving them the entire time they were in patient. Which if you know anything about mental health medications you can't just STOP cold turkey. it can send you into physcosis. It's almost like they were wanting to set my partner up for failure. When I brought all this up to UNC administration they decided to do an investigation... of course they "investigated themselves and they did nothing wrong and provided adiquit care" but the best part... THE BEST PART... they sent this letter of their investigation with the WRONG NAME It wasn't even my partners name at the top of the letter...so how can you say you investigated anything when you couldn't even get the name at the top of the letter right. This place is an absolute joke and I would never recommend this place. They said they were sorry for not presenting the 72 hour form when my partner and I requested it, they "retrained staff", they said Brian was just trying to make sure my partner "understood the form they were signing" and didn't mean to intimidate them, which is funny because when he called me at my request he was an absolute power trip and incredibly unprofessional. So I believe my partner. If you made it this far I'm glad. Don't go here for help. Simple as that.

All three meals she was served had red meat, bacon, eggs, or gravy, oh and don't let me forget the chocolate cake. Having had vascular issues my entire life, I wanted to rule out another one before seeing a general surgeon. Dr. Purcell told me it was not vascular, but a hydocele. He said it wasn't a big deal unless it bothered me, which it did not. Here I am 4 years later with an infected incarcerated inguinal hernia. It started when my stationary bike dropped one night while excercising. No big deal, I got off and raised it, jumped back on and finished my miles. Withing about 30 minutes, I was in horrific pain lower left abdomen. To make a long story short: 4 ER visits, diverticulitis, hernia surgery, and a bowel blockage with four days "nothing by mouth." They said everything was inflamed: my uterus, small and large bowel and diaphragm. Untold amounts of vomiting and diarrhea. Now a gut that returns to d and v unless I eat certain foods. He should have told me to see a general surgeon.
