I love how every month the little preschoolers go and visit the elderly , i think it really teaches them compassion and being respectful, something that i dont see too often now a days. The school holds a high standard in academics, and i love how theres uniform, that way every kid wears the same prison outfit, no need to stress on brand named clothing.

Nazareth School is like a second home for our family. I attended in the 80s, and cherish my…read morelifelong friendships with my Naz classmates. It is a delight to see that same type of connection unfold for my child, too! The families at Nazareth are awesome! Lots of involvement in community service & social activities. Every adult on campus knows my child's name. Academics are solid. There's a computer lab, science lab, art studio and a new STEAM lab. The buzz of afterschool activities includes offerings in afterschool sports, tech classes, drama group & scout troops, as well as aftercare & homework help. Each month students visit the Nazareth House senior living community, atop the hill overlooking Nazareth School's verdant campus. Separate green playing fields & shaded eating areas for upper & lower divisions, newly surfaced sport courts, a beautiful school garden, a space for kindergarten & for preschool. Rooted in the core values of the Sisters of Nazareth, Nazareth students' Catholic identity is nurtured through observance of special days of the Church calendar, weekly school masses, and a daily religious education curriculum. One-to-one student technology, the beauty & ease of wearing a Catholic school uniform & fun weekly assemblies/singing practices are just a few extra mentionables that make Nazareth School one of the best choices for your child in San Diego County.

We love The Village Academy of San Diego!…read more If you are looking to break away from the traditional, limited education model offered by public and private schools, but are not quite ready for full time homeschooling, The Village Academy is a fantastic choice! I appreciate the peaceful, calm learning environment; the multi-age classrooms that allow for customizing the learning level to my child's needs and that allows kids of different ages to interact; and that my wishes are honored (i.e. I want my kiddo to have time daily to practice cursive).

I am so glad I found the Village Academy for my daughter!…read more We took her out of the local public school last year because it was not a good fit for her, she cried nearly every day because it was too overwhelming and she was struggling. At the Village Academy she is thriving in the smaller intimate mixed-aged classrooms. Because of the small class size and individualized learning plan she is noticed, encouraged (and loved!) and the teachers understand her learning style and keeping track of her progress. There is close communication with the parents and our input is valued. Fridays are called adventure Fridays at the Village Academy. She has done so many fun and educational things on those days: Museums, tide pools, parks, a farm and much more.... learning doesn't just happen in the classroom! Nature and in-person experiences make learning come alive, the school is small enough to be able to facilitate many hands on activities both at the school and outside. I am thankful I get to take her to a place every day where she is challenged, feels known and is thriving.
